Subject: The Unofficial Rules for Team Duels - ssjEasterBunny The Unofficial Rules for Team Duels - ssjEasterBunny ********************************************************************** · Field Arrangement o Players will be arranged equal distances from each other in a shape based on the number of players. § For example, a duel with three players is arranged in the shape of a triangle, a duel with four players is arranged in the shape of a square, etc. Or, the players may sit evenly distributed around a circle. o Position players of the same team so that they are not sitting next to each other. · Players of the same team MAY: o Attack each other’s monsters. o Use each other’s monsters as Fusion Material monsters, provided the other player’s monsters are on the field and he/she agrees. o Activate Trap Cards and Quick-Play Magic Cards that are used to protect the owner when their teammate is target by an opposing team. § For example, if a player on the opposing team targets your teammate or his/her monsters for an attack, you may activate cards such as “Mirror Force” or “Magic Cylinder.” o Discuss strategies with their teammates. However, anything said or written during a Duel is public knowledge, and any duelist on any team is entitled to know what has been said or written. § For example, you may say to your teammate, “I have Dark Hole, so don’t put out a good monster,” but your opponents are also entitled to hear this. In other words, you cannot whisper to anyone in secret. · Players of the same team may NOT: o Look at each other’s face-down cards, the cards in each other’s hands, or exchange cards with each other, unless through the effect of a Magic, Trap, or Effect Monster card. o Attack with each other’s monsters, unless through the effect of a Magic, Trap, or Effect Monster card. o Use each other’s monsters as sacrifices for Tribute Summons, Ritual Summons, or for any other effects of Magic, Trap, or Effect Monster Cards. o Activate cards other than Trap and Quick-Play Magic Cards that are already set the field during each other’s turns. o Communicate with each other in a way that other duelists of either team cannot hear, see, or interpret. · Card Rulings o The text on a card may not be altered in any way. § For example, “Change of Heart” reads “Control one of your opponent’s monsters…” This means the monster you target must be on your opponent’s field and cannot be on you teammate’s field. § Traps such as “Mirror Force” and “Magic Cylinder” are the same way; they both read “When your opponent’s monster attacks…” or “Negate the attack of an opponent’s monster…” This means that you cannot activate such cards when somebody on you team attacks, regardless of the target. o A card that specifically targets its owner does not affect its owner’s teammate. § For example, you may activate “Enchanted Javelin” when your opponent attacks you or your teammate, but only your Life Points can be increased by its effect. ********************************************************************* Created: 6 June 2003 Author: ssjEasterBunny E-Mail: ssjEasterBunny@hotmail.com
