Subject: Reading and Writing I ve seen several tips and forum posts where it s clear the writer either doesn t know how to read and comprehend what they read, they just ignore part of the text on the card or they don t know the rules/specific card rulings involved in their tip. A lot of these same folks also write with such poor net slang that it s difficult to make out what they re saying. Typos are understandable to a point, but some of this stuff is beyond my ability to decipher. One example comes to mind because I ve seen it a lot is with the Miracle Dig magic card. Miracle Dig Normal Magic (spell speed 1) If there are 5 or more monsters that have been removed from play in the current Duel, return 3 of them to the Graveyard. Notice how the wording of this card says the monsters are returned to the GRAVEYARD? Well a large number of folks seem to be reading that as return 3 of them to you hand and are posting tips about using this card to make an Exodia win easier. Others have said that this is like back-up Soldier for removed from play monsters, only better because it s a magic card instead of a trap. Again, this is because they are not reading and comprehending the text on the card correctly. The whole point of this card is for getting monsters back into the graveyard that have been removed from play due to Kycoo, Gravedigger Ghoul, Soul Release, Bazoo, Skull Lair, Fusion Gate, special summoning monsters such as Soul of Purity and Light and Rock Spirit, etc, etc. Another example is Scapegoats. Folks tend to ignore the part that says you can not summon any other monster during the turn this card is activated. In any case I d like to ask everyone to please read the full text of the card, then check the PDF rulings or ask questions on the forums if that text is unclear. Please verify the rules from the rulebook and the specific card rulings before you post tips about a card or combos with that card to be certain they are valid uses of that card. Please type your tips and questions as clearly as possible and use the spell checker so you can get the help you re asking for. That includes spelling out the name of the card in question instead of using just the initials, especially with those that could be several cards such as SS which could be Summoned Skull, Sinister Serpent or Snatch Steal.
