Subject: Play Yu-Gi-Oh With Pride!-Aaron from St. Louis Hello Yugioh faithful and CCG lovers alike. My name is Aaron and if this is posted, it will be my first Yugi tip ever posted on Pojo.com. If so, I thank the staff of Pojo for doing so. Lately, I have noticed the increse of 'rants' concerning how the game is played, what is wrong with the game, and more specifically, what is wrong with the people who play it. I hope that what I have to say will help all of you duelists out there. From the tips that I have been reading, there have been a lot of bashing of other peoples' playing style, and the endless exchanging of nasty e-mails just because someone does'nt agree with your statement. Well, I think that like in any situation, everyone should just NOT CARE about what other people say. Yeah, that's right! Let's say that you send in a combo that's posted one week. The very next week, someone e-mails you saying, "That combo is stupid. You suck." Well, so what? Hey, I say, if you like your combo, and if Pojo liked it enough to post it, why bother sending someone an equally nasty retort if it's all gravy? Likewise, if someone posts a report saying, "All Beatdown decks are horrible (note: this is not my own opinion, I myself think Beatdowns are fun and competitive ~_^)" , and you play a Beatdown deck, is it really worth it to write a nasty e-mail or report to defend your deck? Hey, if it makes you happy, then do it! Too many people seem influenced by others' opinions. Like a wise duelist whose e-mail address is wingcommander 02 said in a rant June 20, "it's time we make this Yugioh game fun once again." They couldn't be more right. I am thrilled to see so many duelists out there passionate enough about the game to defend themselves and their beliefs on it. However, in doing so, it's so easy to forget that Yugioh is indeed a game, and isn't fun supposed to be the main point? Hey, I encourage all duelists out there reading this now to play whichever way makes you the most comfortable. If it's a deck that a lot of people use, that's fine. Even if one of the Pojo staffers says your deck or your cards are outdated, play with them if you want to! It's YOUR decision, because it's YOUR game to play, not someone else's. Thank you for your time. Please e-mail me with any comments concerns or complaints at CeltikGuardian02@yahoo.com. I look forward to anything you guys have to say about this. Until later, Happy Dueling!
