Subject: Rant: Deck Conformity Hi I have been playing Yu Gi Oh since it first came out and one thing that I have realized is that with all the new sets that come out more and more people are using that ol stndard beatdown. This is not to say that I don't use one, in fact I have a very good one I constructed which has taken me very far in tournament play. The point is taht with the advent of newer cards these decks will, and are, becoming a thing of the past. I think that if you look at the mainstreem cards you will see a trend towards beatdowns in general, God knows everyone at the tourneys play them. There are, however, exceptions to every rule. My friends and I, yes I do have friends despite the fact that I have time to type this rant, have been tinkering with various combos to counter the conformed beatdown. My brother uses card destruction and removal to deck an opponent, very well I might add. My friends all use some form of a beatdown and it was great fun to beat them down with my newly constructed burner. I thought there was nothing more satisfying then watching them unable to play that scary heavy storm because if they did my chain energy would kill them instantly. I really liked seeing the look on their faces when a toll or two were on the field and all they had to attack with were those stupid dark elves or jirai gumo, only to find to their horror that I had a waboku. Sure this was all fun and games but attempting to create a deck other then the beatdown was fun and rewarding. I mean comeo on, if I can beat the tourney champ with one, who's ranked 5th in N.A. what challenge can you make about the burner? Not to self, these kinds of decks require planning and knowledge about the game... beginners and beatdown users need not apply. s_spaz@mailcity.com ____________________________________________________________ Get 250 full-color business cards FREE right now! http://businesscards.lycos.com
