Subject: Character Deck #1 - Mike B Well, since I just did a large character deck essay, I figured that from now on I would make a different character deck each week. Well, with Pharoah's Servant out, I'm going to use that. This is a Jinzo character deck. When Jinzo is on the field, no TRAPS can be activated. For this reason, we will use a minimum number of traps. Monsters: We want some heavy hitting monsters. PSV brings out the Goblin Attack Force. 2300 attack for a lvl 4 is NICE!! For the effect, we will use 2. Also, the standard 2 Wall of Illusions will go into the deck. Maybe drop in a few La Jinns for extra force. Jinzo will not be our heavy attacker though. It will be in the deck to stop traps from being activated, so you can pull off much smoother combos. WOTBF can pull it out of your deck for you, so grab 2. We can use Barrel Dragon for our heavy attacker. Final Monster List: Jinzo - 1 Goblin Attack Force - 2 (Good attack, bad effect) La Jinn - 2 Wall of Illusion - 2 Man-Eater Bug - 2 (Get rid of their cards then sac it for Jinzo) Mask of Darkness - 1 (To bring back Call of the Haunted which we will get into later) Labyrinth Wall - 2 (Awesome defense and stall card) Witch of the Black Forest - 2 Barrel Dragon - 1 Hane-Hane - 1-2 (Preference) Magician of Faith - 2 (Standard) Spear Cretin - 2 (Brings back your Jinzo/MEB/MoF) Cyber-Jar - 1 (Let's you play cards that allow Flip effects, and will let you tribute easily XD) Sangan - 1 (Get out WOTBF so you can grab Jinzo) Well that is 22-24 monsters. You may add or take away whatever you like, it is up to you. But, as you can see, it is not exactly the monsters that make up the deck. It is the magic and traps. Since we can't use very many trap cards (Jinzo's effect) we will make up for it with magics. Magic: Well, first off the standard magics. Monster Reborn, Pot of Greed, etc. Premature Burial adds a nice touch to any deck. You don't need 2 Heavy Storms, as Jinzo will stop traps, and nobody sets magics that will win them the duel. So I would say 1 of them or 1 Giant Trunade, which I prefer over Heavy Storm. Anyway, on to the rest. The Shallow Grave works well with this b/c you can bring out a Labyrinth Wall. Last Will is going to let you bring out a WOTBF and your opponent will attack it A.S.A.P. But even better, add Share the Pain. This is, in my opinion, better than TTTD. You can Flip, then Share the Pain. Beautiful. Final Magic List: Monster Reborn - 1 POG - 1 Change of Heart - 1 Snatch Seal - 1 Heavy Storm/Giant Trunade - 1 (Up to preference) Mystical Space Typhoon - 1-2 Share the Pain - 2 Last Will - 1 Premature Burial - 1 Raigeki - 1 Swords of Revealing Light - 1 (Can help you out, but I find adding 2 makes you rely heavily on it) Card Destruction - 2 (Awesome card in my opinion. Helps out any deck.) Imperial Order - 1 (Restricted to one; Stop them from playing magics and traps XP) Well, Jinzo is what the deck revolves around, but I'm sure that someone could argue that it is Barrel Dragon. Anyway, we have cards that will get our Jinzo back, and once we have it on the field, we can use Raigeki, POG, and attack wothout worries. This is why we have added Premature Burial to the Monster Reborn. 700 (could be 800) life points is nothing compared to what they will receive. Its 16 magics. Thats 38-40 cards there. That is ok because we will only use a few traps. Traps: We only need a few stall cards. Waboku works AWESOME for stalling. We could also use some speed traps, as BD and Jinzo are speed cards. Use a Mirror Force for obvious reasons, but get rid of it if you have Jinzo on the field. This is the reason we have Mask of Darkness in the deck at all. Final Trap List: Waboku - 2 Mirror Force - 1 Magic Jammer - 2 Thats 5 traps. 5 is good for this deck. We don't need very many. There are some extremely good traps in PSV, but I don't think any of them would help this deck much. Most of them are continuous, but we want quick, choppy traps. They won't do much good if they are continuous. Anyway, there is a total of 43-45 cards. I know this may seem like more than most of you use, but I am sure that 3-5 over 40 isn't bad. Play around with this deck. It has great potential. However, this is just a guideline. This won't win many duels. Mess around and send me your results. I would like to know how it went. And I am holding a poll for my next character deck. Should I use: A: Toons B: Maha Vailo C: Jinzo #7 (Jinzo's little brother!!) I would like to hear how the deck goes and also what deck I should use. My e-mail is frieza_00@hotmail.com . You can even send me your deck if you want and I can give it a quick fix. Maybe I'll be able to open my own garage (XD) Oh well. Thanx for reading this!
