Hey there! This is my first time posting on the Top 10 list section, and for my first article, i will talk about my fav type of monsters in the game: Light. These monsters can hold their own, and before the Invasion of Chaos, had a pretty tough deck modeled around them. So, with out further adieu, the Light Monsters 10. Asura Priest Fairy/Spirit/Effect Level: 4 ATK: 1700 DEF: 1200 Desc: This card cannot be Special Summoned. This card returns to the owner's hand during the End Phase of the turn that this card is Normal Summoned, Flip Summoned or flipped face-up. This card can attack all monsters on your opponent's side of the field. You cannot attack your opponent directly if you attack any monsters first. This card is godly if used correctly, especially now since everyone is packing mutiple copies of scapegoat in their deck. THis card laughs at goats and other tokens for that matter. The attack is some what lacking but what makes her weaker is here spirit type. Having to return to your hand every turn is a drag, but this card is still deadly, especially if you can give her trample. 9. Maha Vailo Type: Spellcaster/Effect ATK: 1550 DEF: 1400 Desc: In addition to the effects of Equip cards, the ATK of this monster is increased by 500 points for each card Equipped to this monster I know a bunch of people might think im crazy for including this card, but Maha can become a beast very quickly, and will suprise your oppent if used at the right time. I have an Guardian deck that also features this card, and she works great. Wiping out your opponets BLS with a four star monster is priceless. 8. The Agent of Judgment - Saturn Type: Fairy/Effect Level: 6 ATK: 2400 DEF: 0 Desc: If your Life Points are higher than your opponent's Life Points, activate this card's effect by offering this card as a Tribute from your side of the field. Inflict damage to your opponent's Life Points equal to the difference between your and your opponent's Life Points. If "The Sanctuary in the Sky" is not on your side of the field, this effect is not applied. When you activate this effect, you cannot conduct your Battle Phase this turn. I would make a deck based around this card in a second if i just had one or two more copies of Sanctuary in the Sky. Its effect is huge, and even without Sanctuary in the Sky out, it can still match up with Jinzo or any of the Monarchs, and can even take out a blowback! Its still pretty tough to pull off though so thats way it gets #8 7. Magician of Faith Type: Spellcaster/Effect Group: Light Level: 1 ATK: 300 DEF: 400 Desc: FLIP: Select 1 Magic Card from your Graveyard and return it to your hand. Basically everyone either runs or have run this little magician. Getting a spell card back is cool no matter what. This card got a lot better after the ban-list, with all the mass removers gone. However, NOC still owns this card, so packing 3 in a deck is that wise 6. Reflect Bounder Type: Machine/Effect Group: Light Level: 4 ATK: 1700 DEF: 1000 Desc: When this face-up Attack Position card is attacked by a monster on your opponent's side of the field, before damage calcuatlion is resolved in the Damage Step, this card inflicts damage to your opponent's Life Points equal to the ATK of the attacking monster. Then, after damage calculation is resolved, this card is destroyed. This card has a decent attack, and a killer effect great for both burn and stall. Once this machine hits the field, your opponet will think twice about attacking, and is screwed if he has a Berserk Gorilla on the field. Only down side is that this monster dies after it uses its effect 5. Zaborg the Thunder Monarch Type: Thunder/Effect Group: Light Level: 5 ATK: 2400 DEF: 1000 Desc: When this card is Tribute Summoned successfully, destroy 1 monster on the field. Great card and great effect. Summon this card and you can open the field for a direct attack. Metamorphsis loves this card- summon, kill a monster and bring out Balter. Yea! 4. Airknight Parshath Type: Fairy/Effect Group: Light Level: 5 ATK: 1900 DEF: 1400 Desc: When this card attacks with an ATK higher than the DEF of your opponent's Defense Position monster, inflict the difference as Battle Damage to your opponent's Life Points. When this card inflicts Battle Damage to your opponent's Life Points, draw 1 card from your deck. Man it was tough deciding btw this card and Zaborg, mainly i pick this card over it because i thought it deserved the spotlight for a change. Trample is always fun and drawing a card gives you a much needed edge over your opponet. 3. Blade Knight Type: Warrior/Effect Group: Light Level: 4 ATK: 1600 DEF: 1000 Desc: When there is only one or no cards in your hand, this card Increases its ATK by 400 points. Also if this is the only card on your side of the field this card can negate the effects of flip effect monster destroyed by this monster in battle. A card that was so overrated when it first came out that it was in almost eveyone single deck. The hype is over now, but unlike Vampire Lord, this card is still everywhere. Obviously best in Chaos, esp Warrior Chaos this card can get big and seemingly unstoppable before your opponet has time to do anything. Food for BLS, this card is the ultimate topdeck 2. D.D. Warrior Lady Type: Warrior/Effect Group: Light Level: 4 ATK: 1500 DEF: 1600 Desc: When this card battles another monster, after Damage Calculation you can remove the opponent's monster and this card from play. What would the world of Yugioh be like with out the DD's this card especially. A lot safer, thats for sure. Although im hestitant to say this, but what the hey, D.D. Warrior Lady is a staple. Not in every deck though so don't start sending me emails explaining why im wrong. Either way this card is taking names And finally # 1!!! Black Luster Soldier - Envoy of the Beginning!!! Whoever didnt see this coming is probably a noobie and whoever doesn't know its effect should sell all of their cards (to me) and go back to playing gameboy. With the ban-list up this card is arguably the strongest card in the TCG. What else is there to say? Chaos owns Questions, coments, concerns, or do you just want to discuss the philsophical values in early Romantic works in comparison to the detail of realist and natualist works? :P Either way u can reach me at: AlieNX200@aol.com Until next time!!!
