Doug D.'s Yu-gi-oh! Top Ten Zombies--Why the Graveyard is your Friend

With the proper support cards your Zombies will just keep coming back from the dead to haunt your enemies, again and again and again…

  1. Vampire Lord—Now I know ya’ll saw this coming, but how can you say no to something that won’t stay dead and thins your opponent’s deck!

  1. Ryu Kokki—Wow, this one tribute powerhouse can take out those pesky spellcasters and warriors.

  1. Patrician of Darkness—The look of frustration on your opponent’s face when you just won’t let them attack your weaker monsters is priceless.  This card in combination with Spirit Reaper produces a Mini-lock that will have your opponent pulling his hair out!

  1. Spirit Reaper—Indestructible in battle, hand destruction effect and upgradeable to Reaper on the Nightmare!

  1. Shadow Ghoul—While I wouldn’t recommend this guy in your zombie deck, if you build your deck around him his power becomes quite awesome.

  1. Despair from the Dark—He’ll make your opponent think twice before using hand destruction and with Call of the Mummy no tribute required.

  1. Fear from the Dark—A 1700 attacker with a Despair effect.  He may not have a 2800 ATK, but he’s 4 stars.

  1. Reaper on the Nightmare—The same effects as Spirit Reaper, an 800 ATK and he can attack your opponent’s life points directly.  Just fuse Reaper with Nightmare Horse and watch your opponents life-points and hand ride off into the sunset.

  1. Pyramid Turtle—When this guy is destroyed in battle he brings out a zombie with 2000 or less ATK which translates to just about any zombie in your deck.

  1. Royal Keeper—He may seem like he’s weak, but with a simple flip he becomes a 1900/2000 beatstick/wall.

Now even though he didn’t make the cut, I have to mention Fusioh Richie.  He has great stats for a Zombie (the highest before Despair came out) and an awesome effect, un-targetable by magic/traps and he revives Zombies to form an army.  The reason he didn’t make the cut is fairly obvious, he is nearly impossible to summon!  You must summon the Great Dezard a one tribute spellcaster with 1900 ATK and then destroy two of your opponent’s monsters with it before you can summon your trump card.  The Dezard doesn’t stand a chance against GAF, Giant Orc, Zombrya or even 1900 beatsticks.  In a word, unplayable.  That being said, if any one can use this guy successfully in a deck, then that person is a master deck builder.
