Top 10 Cards for any deck ~ Nerimon I recently was surprised to see a top 10 list 'for any deck' with Delinquent Duo in it. I also saw a really good one, but it was from a guy with bad grammar and who bashed beatdowns without justified reason. So, here's my attempt at a Top 10 list, in no particular order. 1 - Mystical Space Typhoon/Harpie's Feather Duster I put these together because they're both removal Spells, and decks need this. Heavy Storm is good if you can get it, but MST and HFD are the best choices. So long as you don't hit a JoA. 2 - Raigeki Destroy all their monsters. What more can you say? Just, the number of times I hit a Witch, it's not even funny anymore ... 3 - Pot of Greed/Graceful Charity These are both drawing cards and very good for the extra thing you need to pull off that perfect combo. My favourite use for a Graceful charity: 'Draw CED, Magician of Faith and Jinzo. Discard my Light and Dark monsters, MoF and Jinzo. Heeeeeeeeere's Jonny!' 4 - Change Of Heart/Snatch Steal Snatch Steal will be the Heart's replacement if the banned list ever surfaces over here. I personally use both, and saw Snatch Steal as my replacement for Soul Exchange. 5 - Dark Hole/Torrential Tribute Out of everything I've learnt in Yu-Gi-Oh, this is my most valuable lesson. Everybody should run at least 2 TTs main-decked, and 1 side-decked, or 3 main-decked. Why? Because, you guessed it, they own you. Ph33r them. 6 - Sinister Serpent Nothing like a creepy little lizard who won't go away. Good for topdecking, or a nice piece of fodder for your opponent's Spear Dragon to trample over. But, you get the last laugh when it comes back next turn and attacks the DEF mode Spear! *mwahaha* 7 - Jinzo How can you say THIS doesn't belong in a Top 10 list? Trap negation! I never liked Jinzo at first because it affected your Traps, but the sense of security you get when it's there is oddly comforting. What I don't understand though, is that although the effect is the same no matter what side of the Field it's on, it's so much more of a danger on your opponent's side of the Field ... 8 - Monster Reborn To get back said Jinzo, then despair as they chain and Call Of The Haunted it back out of your grasp. Ah well. 9 - Breaker The Magical Warrior JoA killer! I love Breaker for its versatility, and an extra bit of M/T removal is great right now, although I can see it becoming ... dare I say it ... obselete *shock horror* in the future. 10 - D.D. Warrior Lady/Exiled Force Some people prefer Exiled as it doesn't have to attack, therefore meaning it can kill Dark Ruler Ha Des and Terrorking Archfiend. I personally prefer DD because it removes V Lord, Sinister Serpent, Sangan, Witch, Helpoemer and all those other send-to-Graveyard effects out of the game. And some honourable mentions that didn't quite make the top list: Spear Dragon - Works well in most decks, but I wasn't sure everyone could make use of it. It's great though Tribe-Infecting Virus - Very good in beatdowns and control decks, but not every deck would benefit from the hand disadvantage this gives you. \ Kuriboh - AWFUL in speed decks, but it does well in some casual decks as a Waboku replacement, or where the attacks come thick and fast Premature Burial/Call Of The Haunted - extra recursion cards are all too helpful. Still waiting for a rare Spell that allows me to get a card back as a Normal Summon. Thus, taking up my slot for that turn, but allowing me access to Yata and all the other things that are supposed to stay buried ...? Vampire Lord - Ahh yes, this lil' creature of the night will NEVER stay buried! Gotta love tha V. However, although it excels in Zombie decks and does itself proud in Beatdowns, most other decks won't benefit from it. The Chaos monsters - you know who you are - haven't been mentioned because they only work in Chaos decks, and aren't versatile enough for the 'any deck' list. Same with Yata, Don and the discard trio (Confiscation, Forceful Sentry and Delinquent Duo). Hope you've enjoyed my Top 10 list, will have more to come soon!
