Eyara’s Top Ten Easy-to-get

Commons/Normal Rares

This a list of the ten best normal rares and common cards for your deck. If you’re like me, you can’t exactly afford the $42.00 Gemini Elf or the $100.00 worth of packs to find those Secret Rares, this list is for you. These are from Starter Decks and packs. Enjoy. J

Rares:

  1. Pot of Greed: As most of you know this is a staple card, you’ll always want one in any deck.  Since it’s a normal rare it’s easy to get from packs or you can get it from a Card Store for a buck or two. If you don’t have one of these, get one as soon as possible.

  1. Thunder Nyan Nyan: A normal rare with the attack and level of a Gemini Elf. It does have on drawback though, if a NON-light monster is on your side of the field, it’s destroyed. You have nothing to worry about if you run a light deck. If you don’t, but you run a beatdown, I still suggest you put one in, it’ll still be good for a couple attacks.

  1. Cyber Jar: Another staple, and excellent card to have in any deck, especially beatdown decks. If you run a beatdown, most of your level fours will have high attacks, so most of the time you use this your field will fill up with great monsters.

  1. Marie the Fallen One: I like this card because you gain lp as long as it’s in your graveyard. You don’t even have to summon it, just discard from your hand when you use Magic Jammer or when you have to many cards in your hand. Of course if your opponent uses Kycoo or Soul Release you’re in trouble.

  1. Opticlops: Another great attacker, 1800 atk and 1700 def, and only a level 4 monster. This a great card for most decks and it has no drawbacks.

  1. Blast With Chain:  An excellent equip card from LOD. Any monster with this card gains 500 atk. Plus you get to destroy any card (magic, trap, monster) on the field when it’s destroyed by a card effect. So, Magic Jammer, MST, Harpie’s Feather Duster, Heavy Storm, De-spell… will activate it’s effect. The only two things that won’t would be Imperial Order and one of your opponent’s monsters that has a higher attack then the one you equipped this to.

  1. Bottomless Trap Hole: This is a great rare that stops the normal, flip and special summon of any monster with an atk of 1500 or more. Great against fusions, rituals, and cards brought back from the graveyard.

  1. Skull Invitation: An excellent card for Beatdown, Hand Destruction, or Deck Depletion decks. Every time a card is sent to the Graveyard the owner of that card lose 300 lp. It’s effect does apply to you as well, but if you run any of the decks above your opponent will definitely lose more than you will.

  1. Prohibition: Excellent card. Keep it in your side deck though. You can stop your opponent from playing any card you name, but if you opponent doesn’t have the card you call, it’s useless, so wait till you know what your opponent has.

  1. The Shallow Grave: It is a card like Monster Reborn, but with a drawback your opponent can summon a monster from their graveyard as well. Still a good card if you can’t get a Premature Burial or Call of the Haunted.

Commons:

  1. Monster Reborn: I know it’s an old card that pretty much everybody has. It’s still one of the best cards in the game. You can get this from the Starter decks, but if you don’t have one already and you haven’t just started, you should quit playing Yugioh right now.

  1. Change of Heart: Starter deck card, a staple and really needs no explanation.

  1. Magician of Faith/Mask of Darkness: Great cards, both staples in my book, though most people say Mask of Darkness isn’t. You can get both from Starter Decks.

  1. Magic Jammer/Seven Tools of the Bandit: These can only be found in the Pegasus and Joey Starter decks(Ultra Rares if you get them in packs), these two put De-spell and Remove Trap out of business. If you still use those, get rid of them and some Magic Jammers and Seven Tools. You will want at least one of each in your deck, personally I keep three of each most of the time.

  1. Witch of the Black Forest/Sangan: Ah, yet another staple card. These can also be found in the Starter decks. Excellent cards for any deck.

  1. Dark Hole: Staple card, next best thing to Raigeki. Found again in Starter decks.

  1. Harpie’s Brother/La Jinn: Excellent atk and only level 4. You can get them from PSV packs and Starter decks. J

  1. Summoned Skull: 2500 atk and only 1 tribute, makes him a force to reckoned with. You can get him from the Yugi Starter deck.

  1. Mystical Space Typhoon: Great for removing Continuous m/t cards or face-down cards and it is a quick-play. You can get this from Pegasus and Joey Starter decks.

  1.  Malevolent Nuzzler: The best common equip card there is. Your monster gets 700 atk and you can pay 500 lp to put it back on top of your deck when it gets destroyed.
