Subject: Ryutaro’s Top Ten Pharaonic Guardian Cards

Lately, there has been a lot of Top Ten Pharaonic Guardian lists in the Top Ten section, so I thought “What the heck, I’ll make one, too!” Well, here’s my top ten cards from PGD.

10)Jowls of Dark Demise--This Water Fiend monster can take control of one of your opponent’s monsters and attack him/her directly with it. You can use this after a Cyber Jar activates its effect, or the #1 pick to protect it from attack until the next turn. You can then take your opponent’s monster, sacrifice Jowls for a Tribute Monster, and attack!

9)Reckless Greed--It’s a Trap version of Pot of Greed, but you skip two Draw Phases. The good thing is no matter how many times you can use this card, you still only skip two Draw Phases.

8)Raigeki Break--What, you can discard a card from your hand to destroy one card on the field? Cool! Nasty if you combo it with Sinister Serpent.

7)Buster Rancher--Any monster with 1000 ATK or less gets a 2500 ATK boost whenever it battles with a monster with at least 2500 ATK or DEF. This is good for Spirit Monsters like Yata-Garasu and Otohime, and Injection Fairy Lilly gets an extra boost when you fight Summoned Skull. It’s a nice card, but I wish you could equip this on any monster instead.

6)Dark Coffin--This Trap Card, when destroyed while face-down and sent to the Graveyard, forces your opponent to either discard a card from his/her hand or destroy one monster. There’s a simple but deadly combo with this and Magical Hats. When you activate Magical Hats and use this as one of the non-Monster cards, no matter what the outcome, it will be destroyed one way or the other.

5)Statue of the Wicked--It has the same initial effect as #6, but this time you get a free Monster Token, which you can use to get a Tribute Monster.

4)Maiden of the Aqua--Although you won’t get any ATK/DEF bonuses because of her effect, you can activate Tornado Wall with it. She’s great if you don’t have Legendary Ocean in your hand, and you can throw in Heart of Clear Water to stall until you draw it.

3)Helpoemer--When sent to the Graveyard after battle, this Dark Fiend makes your opponent discard a card at the end of his/her Battle Phase. Personally I love Fiends, and this guy is no exception. A great card for those who use the almighty Yata-Garasu.

2)Swarm of Scarabs--This is one of the many cards that can assume face-down Defense Position during your turn. This can be an infinite Man-Eater Bug; you can continue to flip it up and back down to clear the opponent’s Monster Zone and get to their Life Points.

1)Book of Moon--Possibly one of the best Quick-Play Magic Cards ever. Although you can use this to reuse your Flip Effects, it can be used during your opponent’s turn to stop a monster attack. It’s especially sick when combined with Nobleman of Crossout to take Jinzo, Yata-Garasu, and all the other restricted monsters out of the game.
