Vampiric Touch (Priest)

3 Cost, Ability- Shadow Talent

Shadow Hero Required

Attach to target hero or ally.

Ongoing: At the start of your turn, your hero deals 1 shadow damage to attached character.

When you play a Shadow ability, ready one of your resources.

Very nice indeed.  Although it costs 3 and you can only ping one target, this priest ability allows you to get more life out of your resources.  Later in the game, this can be great.  Say you've got 5 resources out and Vampiric Touch is already on the table.  You can play any 1 cost Shadow ability (sorry, too early in the morning for me to think of any by name), and still have 5 resources open after.  You can effectivly play a 2 cost Shadow Ability for half price.

Sealed: 3/5  Not amazing here, as Shadow abilities for a priest may be kinda scarce, but not a bad DoT in its own right.

Constructed: 4/5  Later in the game, this card can make your opponants life hell.  Having to pay less to deal damage is always good.

Casual: 4/5  About the same as Constructed.  This card places high in Casual for being a good card AND being a fun card.  :)

Raid: 3/5  If you are playing a Shadow Priest (I dunno WHY you are a Shadow Priest in a raid, we need a healer!) then this card will go a long way to helping you take down Ony and Rags.  Otherwise, HEAL!!!

Vampiric Touch

This is one of those abilities you only play when are playing a lot of other abilities.  It is a DOT that does 1 damage over time for a cost of 3, but it gives you an extra effect of- when you play a shadow ability, ready one of your resources.  Now where this card can shine is if you get multiple copies on the opposing hero.  You still have to pay the cost of the shadow ability you use, but then you can ready a resource for each copy of vampiric touch you have in play.  So, if you get 2 copies attached to a hero, and then play a 1 resource ability, you can then ready 2 resources.  That’s cool.

I think I’d only play this in a control type deck b/c it has no place in a rush deck.

A new week with new cards. Ability week. First of all is here Vampiric Touch. A non-instant ability that cost three. For this cost it has to be good. But in my opinion this card isn't that strong. The damage it deals every turn is nice but there are other abilities that deal more damage. The second part of this ability is nice but you need to play a lot of shadow abilities to really get power out of the card. With these sets there are not that many shadow abilities that are that good it can win games on their own. So in my opinion don't play this card. Go for mind blast etc. for good abilities.

If the metagame become very slowly it is possible to play a deck around shadowform this card and discard.

If you want to contact you can mail me     jeffreyverwoerd@hotmail.com for questions and suggestions.

Sealed: 1/5 In sealed you have to less shadow abilities so need to play this card except a dot for 1 each turn.

Constructed: 2/5 Nah there are better cards in my opinion

Casual: 3/5 give it try with shadowforms etc

Raid:1/5 not needed discard is better
