UPPER DECK ENTERTAINMENT LAUNCHES

NEW VS. SYSTEM™ HOBBY LEAGUE PROGRAM

FEATURING ALL-NEW PRIZE SUPPORT FOR

WEEKLY AND ‘MARQUEE’ IN-STORE EVENTS

‘City Championship’ Tournaments Makes Debut as

Hobby League’s First Marquee Event on March 23

CARLSBAD, Ca. (March 02, 2007) – In a continuing effort to provide support to hobby retailers across North America, Upper Deck Entertainment (UDE) is launching a newly-designed Vs. System™ Hobby League program for in-store tournaments and events.  Featuring exclusive material and prize support for its new monthly “Marquee Events,” store owners can look forward to this program beginning on March 23, with the premiere of the first Marquee Event, the Vs. System City Championships.  Interested retailers (direct accounts only) must place orders no later than Wednesday, March 7.

“Upper Deck Entertainment wants to provide store owners additional support in helping to bring casual players into their stores for these events,” said Andy Fletcher, Retail Organized Play Manager, Upper Deck Entertainment.  “The prize support for these Marquee Events are up to par with ones given away at premier-level tournaments, which is definitely a large incentive for casual players to come into stores once a month to try to win these items.”

Though Hobby League kits will continue to include prize support for retailers to run four weekly in-store Vs. System tournaments (which includes posters, promo cards and playmats), each kit will now contain additional prize support and material to run one Marquee Event per month.  The Vs. System City Championships will run between March 23 and April 15, and will offer exclusive promo cards and playmats to participants and top finishers.

In addition, winners of each City Championship tournament will have an opportunity to submit their winning decklists to Upper Deck Entertainment’s R&D (Research and Development) team for an opportunity to have their likeness appear on a future Vs. System card.

Upcoming Marquee Events include Random Punks Tournaments (April kit), Spider-Man Tournaments (May kit), DC’s World’s Finest Release Celebration Tournaments (June kit) and World’s Finest City Championship Tournaments (July kit).  Stores who would like to order any of these Hobby League kits can apply online at

www.ude.com/tournamentstore

The Vs. System game engine represents epic Super Hero™ battles in a TCG format and is designed and developed specifically to support Super Heroes in one-on-one competition. The Vs. System retains its excitement in multiplayer play and is designed to support Sealed Pack and Booster Draft formats.
