jajais4u orion - dog of war

This guy is actually still good in comparison to newer cards. There aren't a lot of cards that have that effect. Problem is, games end on five to six, sometimes seven. Stats are on the weak side, but the effects are ok. He's basically branded as a stall character. I mean come on, activated effect on turn eight? Stall, all the way. Hmm.

Sealed - 2.5

Constructed - 2.0 (The game is way too fast to make it to turn eight, unless it's a serious stall deck.)

I know nothing about the New Gods.

Orion<> Dog of war: Cost 8: 17/17: Flight, Range, Cosmic: New Gods

Activate >>> Remove target attacker from this attack.

Cosmic: Pay 3 endurance, discard a New Gods character card from your hand >>> Negate target non-ongoing plot twist effect.

Okay, so I don’t know enough about this guy for jokes, so that leaves me with no other option but to proceed with tactical analysis.

Orion’s first effect isn’t brilliant. Defensively getting to remove an attacker might be good, but not worth giving up a chance to kick face with your 8 drop character. Least that’s what I think. However his second effect is cool. Negating plot twists is always fun, (provided you have the discard fodder). It would be better if it wasn’t cosmic though. Ultimately both of those effects are useful, and the second is downright good. But nothing says game winning. Hanging in till turn 8 can be tough and unless stalling, or alternate win condition are your thing I wouldn’t recommend it. And Orion simple doesn’t do enough for those deck types.

Plus he has a bucket on his head.

Sealed: 2

Constructed: 2
