Captain America

Basics: This version of Captain America comes to us as a 3-drop with stats of 5/4 , range, and a cosmic ability which allows attackers with 3 or more affiliations to be unstunnable.
Constructed: Like all of other new skrull characters that just came out, it's all about who you know. The good thing about this guy is that he already starts our with two affiliations and since one of those affiliations is Marvel Knights, getting other team-ups on the field isn't going to be a problem (i.e. Midnight Sons). Now outside of a Skrull affiliation deck I don't see this guy making to much headway...I guess you could create a Skrull/X-men or Skrull/Avengers unstunnable deck.
Sealed: When it comes to CA it all comes down to your team-up cards. Since they are so few and far between I would say save the team-up for something really big but if you can get your hands on CA and Ethan it is definitely worth a shot.

Ratings:
MMA constructed - 3.0/5.0 ...I really don't see this card showing up outside of a fun deck.
GA constructed - 2.5/5.0 ...Your team-up is more susceptible here.

Limited - 3.0/5.0 ...It is all about what you get.

Captain America, Skrull Impostor

Man, I love this card. Attacking without being stunned back is a huge ability to have, as it enables you to avoid the usual amount of attrition that happens in the course of normal attacking back and forth. The two things that you have to do in order to use this ability are: keep the Cosmic counter on Cap, and get your guys to have three team affiliations.
The first one can be accomplished many ways; park Cap in the hidden area, keep him from stunning by boosting his defense, or use effects that replace his counter.
The second one isn't too hard either...Image Inducer, Lacuna, or Dual Affiliated characters with one or more team-ups in play. Once you've got that running, then your initiatives get a whole lot easier, as you have a good chance to stun your opponent's board on your turns, and then play defense on the other inits. Cap works well with Ethan Edwards, a guy with a powerful Cosmic ability who you want to keep his counter on as much as possible, plus all of the triple-affiliated characters will boost his attack further. Lots of synergy involved with a deck like this, and that's a good thing.

In Sealed, he's a good play if you have the team-ups to fulfill the three-affiliation condition. He'd work well in a weenie swarm deck, as you could underdrop several characters, then play a global effect that increases all of their attack, then wipe out the opponent's board and maybe do some extra direct attacks also. Just make sure you have enough team-ups and a way to get his Cosmic counter back on, and you could have yourself an archetype.

Rating: 4/5
