Today we have
the common Rogue character Sudden Osprey.
At a cost of 2 with a threshold of 2, Sudden Osprey
is one of the best limited cards there is. Its
versatility combined with its ability and low cost
is simply amazing.
Sudden Osprey is one of the very few non-tactic
cards that can be played “whenever you could play a
tactic.” That alone is sweeeeeet. But add its pump
effect: “When this card enters play, you may pick a
character. If you do, that character gains 1
strength and 1 life this turn.” and you can either
have a solid 2/3/3 for 2 (if it picks itself), or an
unexpectedly stronger tougher character AND an
additional blocker (depending on what step it is
played during.)
Being a common card, you will see this plenty in
your sealed pools and during draft. And even if I’m
not running Rogue, I might actually consider hate
drafting it! In limited, it’s a momentum shifter of
great effect. In constructed, its versatility make
it an auto in quads.
