Today we have
another amazingly powerful card; the rare Arcanist
tactic Eccentric Inquisition.
How would you like to have up to 7 more cards in
hand on turn 2? How would you like to prevent your
opponent from playing those same cards? Play an
Obsession on both turn one and two and this little
beauty does just that! For a cost of 2 with an
Obsession heavy threshold of 4, this card opens up
more options than you can build into any deck.
Reveal the top 7 cards of your opponent’s deck and
remove all tactics from the game. Non-tactics are
placed at the bottom of their deck in the order you
choose. Tactics removed by this card (and by this
card only, not by Swashbuckler or any other means)
are now an extension of your hand. For the rest of
the game, they sit there waiting for you to need
them. But what if they have threshold in a trade
you’re not playing? Simple…ignore it! That’s right;
all you have to do it pay the cost. (Doesn’t
Jackmove cost 0?)
Since it’s tactics that you have to worry about when
it comes to your opponent responding to your
actions, and tactics are the prime source of
character removal, even if you never play one of
them it’s worth keeping them out of your opponent’s
hand. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again:
This is a game of options. If you have more than
your opponent, you’re going to win.
In limited, 4 threshold is always a draw back. In
constructed, this card alone is worth having 18
Obsession in your deck!
