Today we have
another addition to the covert masses. The uncommon
Arcanist character Rummaging Millipede.
Another addition to the ever increasing number of
bugs too.
This 5 cost 2 threshold character is a great side
kick to our already lovable Servile Centipede. Its
3/1/3 stats mirror the Centipede’s 1/3/3, and its
ability is comparable as well. Where the Centipede
pulls tactics from your draw pile, Millipede pulls
them back out of the discard pile once the Centipede
is done with them.
Is it worth the added cost and threshold (one of
each)? 2 threshold isn’t anything to worry about and
with its extra Covert punch of 3 vs. Centipede’s 1
(yes Millipede is more fragile at 1 life) and the
ability to re-use a tactic, I’d say yes.
In limited, replaying key tactics is…key. In
constructed, this will see almost as much play as
its little brother.
Limited: 4.5/5
Constructed: 4/5

Rummagaing Millipede
I've never liked bugs,
and this Millipede doesn't do much to change my
mind. For a five cost double threshold character,
his stats are completely subpar. He's covert, but so
what? He only has one life, which means he dies to
Target Practice, Shriever Attack, Hidden Sniper,
Impeccable Timing, Dragon Quarter's...I could go on.
His ability seems like it could be decent with the
release of future sets, in that he allows you to
return a tactic from your discard pile to your hand.
But it seems to me that instead of playing this guy,
I'd rather draw a card. It seems to me that if I
draw this guy, I'd usually wish it was a tactic
itself.
In Limited, he's a creature with Covert with an
added bonus, which seems good to me. However, his
stats make him not much more than a filler card. In
constructed, I'd rather play another resource.
