Hey guys. I apologize in advance for this short review, but I just had knee surgery. Today is an oldie! Aayla Secura!

Well right off the bat you can see that she suffers from what most CS Jedi do; Single Attack. This is a huge downfall as she can hardly hold her own in battle for her points. (See Jedi Weapon Master) The other thing is she is a commander with a useless CE because that +2 for troopers doesn't help because they have to be adjacent to benefit from it and there are MANY other CE's that will boost their attacks better! (See Kit Fisto from last week!) Her Bodyguard is GREAT although look at the Mistryl Shadow Guard. That little non-unique is in most every way better than Aayla. Aayla has Lightsaber deflect; Shadow Guard has Evade. Aayla is a unique commander; Guard is a non-unique follower. The only thing that the Guard doesn't out due Aayla in is HP. (60 vs. 80) The thing is, if you want a Bodyguard that has 80 HP go with Typho as he is much cheaper. Cool Figure, ruined by being a commander.

100/150/200:(1.5) Can't work other than for fun, period. (Trust me, I wish I could play her effectively!!)

Today we do one of the most loved characters in the prequel world.  She started as a side character in a comic.  George saw a cover of her and loved it so much that she was put into the movies that followed.  She even became important enough to warrant a death scene in Ep III.

Mini-wise, she just didn't get any love what so ever.  In my list of top figs that need to be redone, she ranks right up at the top with Kyle Katarn.  Her stats really are not horrible.  They are just not very good either.  An 18 DEF is low for a Jedi as is the +11 ATK, but the 80 HP is decent enough.

Her ability to bodyguard makes her at least interesting in attempting to play her.  In the early days she was very good Ani and Master Kenobi.  With deflect you can't really pick her off very easily (compared to most BGs), so she is decent for a Bodyguard, even though there are much better choices.

Aayla has three big downers.  The first and least important is that her sculpt is horrible, so she isn't even good to look at much less play.  Second, With only a single attack with that +11 ATK, She brings in absolutely no offense, and last, she has the most worthless CE in the game.  A +2 for just troopers is bad enough, but the troopers have to stay adjacent to her to get it.  If you take away the CE then you get a character that I think in the end would be a very good character.  She could get rerolls from Yoda, an extra attack from Mace, or a +4 from Tarfful or Kit on top of her deflect and bodyguard.

100/150/200pts:  This is a no-brainer.  She is absolutely horrible in every format.  There are better choices for anything she does and more.  It has been confirmed that in either Alliance & Empire (or most likely the following set) we are getting a new Kyle.  Lets hope a Master Secura isn't too far behind.
