Hello everyone, we’ll continue this great week by
reviewing Palkia. It is halo 3’s first anniversary as I’m
writing this, and it’s just a great game besides Pokémon, so
let’s begin with this one…
Dialga has seen more love than this one for
months, but Palkia is actually a meaner sweeping machine.
Finding counters for this is no easy task, and held items give
it even more support to an already powerful Pokémon. Be very
careful training and facing this Pokémon. Its type combination
is nothing to laugh about either. Just give it rain and watch it
destroy your foe.
The movesets for today are…
Special sweeper.
Palkia@Lustrous orb.
Nature: Modest (+ Special attack, - Attack).
EV’s: 252 Special attack / 128 HP / 128 Speed.
- Surf
- Dragon pulse
- Spacial rend / Ice beam
- Flamethrower / Thunderbolt
Just sweep with whatever move you feel right. You
have STAB moves, the proper item and great stats, that’s all you
should need for some time…
Mixed sweeper.

Nature: Hasty (+ Speed, - Defense).
EV’s: 252 Special attack / 252 Attack / 6 Speed.
- Surf
- Aqua tail
- Spacial rend / Draco meteor
- Thunder / Thunderbolt
Aqua tail is devastating. I’ve seen entire teams
going down thanks to this attack and some rain. Probably a best
set compared to the special sweeper.
You can equip choice items as well and make a
choice sweeper, but I think these are going to be the main
movesets you should find out there these days.
Pros.
Man, it is one of the most powerful Pokémon out
there. It is not afraid of Kyogre or Latios, If you are going to
use ubers then Palkia is one serious choice you should make, or
at least one of them. Give it a try, it is effective and fun.
Counters.
Then again, other legendary sweeping Pokémon are
your best bet; Mewtwo, Rayquaza, Latios and Lugia will be able
to resist one or two hits from Palkia, just attack it and hope
for the best. Toxic and double team might be useful as well.
Bottom line.
