Milotic.

# 350.

Type: Water.

Ability: Marvel scale.

Locations: Evolve Feebas (All Versions).

Base stats:

            HP: 95

            Attack: 60

            Defense: 79

            Special attack: 100

            Special defense: 125

            Speed: 81

Hi everyone. Welcome to another Pokémon of the Week. Today we’re reviewing Milotic, the Tender Pokémon.

It’s been almost 2 years since we last reviewed Milotic and some things have changed. It is still a very good competitive Pokémon. New items and moves gave Milotic a couple extra sets that are totally awesome. Its special stats are its forte so this thing can actually be a decent special tank and sweeper.

Marvel scale raises defense 50% if affected by burn, paralyze, sleep, poison or freeze conditions, which is great if you know how and when to use it. We’ll be talking more about that in a moment.

So, the move combinations for today are…

Milotic.

Nature: Calm (+ Special defense, - Attack), Bold (+ Defense, - Attack), Modest (+Special attack, - Attack).

Equip: Leftovers.

EV´s: 252 HP, 129 Defense, 129 Special defense.

- Surf

- Toxic

- Recover / Haze / Ice beam

- Aqua ring

Use toxic, aqua ring and surf. I like using recover because it normally gives you more time in battle, and makes your opponent a little nervous. But Haze is also great move.

Milotic.

Nature: Calm (+ Special defense, - Attack), Bold (+ Defense, - Attack), Modest (+Special attack, - Attack).

Equip: Leftovers.

EV´s: 252 HP, 129 Defense, 129 Special attack.

- Surf

- Ice beam

- Rest

- Sleep talk

This is probably the most defensive set for Milotic. Rest and sleep talk will slowly inflict damage while you keep restoring yours. Ice beam and surf are your finishing moves, timing is important.

Milotic.

Nature: Calm (+ Special defense, - Attack), Bold (+ Defense, - Attack).

Equip: Flame orb.

EV´s: 252 HP, 129 Defense, 129 Special defense.

- Surf

- Ice beam

- Recover / Haze

- Hypnosis

This is when we take advantage of marvel scale. Having your defense raised means you can be a little more offensive. But if you need more security then use hypnosis and keep sweeping.

When should I use this Pokémon?

Milotic is a very decent Pokémon; very hard to beat and capable of defeating some tough Pokémon with patience. Great against Salmence, capable of taking out Tyranitar and inflict some important damage to Lati@s. I didn’t list it, but Mirror coat is also a great move as well, you might want to be a little creative with it.

What should I use against this Pokémon?

Lanturn and Starmie are natural counters. Jolteon and Zapdos are good as well. I’d say electric works better than grass this time, because of Ice beam.

Bottom line:

Finals are coming to an end and I’ll be able to (hopefully) finish the new format. Thanks for reading and sending feedback. See you next week.

Rating:

3.2/5

Hope you enjoyed.

Reeve.
