Pojo's Pokemon of the Week

Rampardos

Date Reviewed: 07.13.07

Ratings & Reviews Summary: 3.00

Ratings are based on a 1 to 5 scale.
1 being the worst.  3 ... average.  5 is the highest rating.

Carbunkle Yey!!! A new Fossil. This will be fun probably.

Name: Rampardos
Ability: Mold Breaker
Type: Rock
Nature: Naughty (+Atk, -S.Atk)
Item: Choice Band
EV's: 252 Atk, 252 Speed (Hp)

Mold Breaker helps us against the enemies abilities like Static and others.
Nature to get the Atk. up which will be good.
Choice Band to make sure you get the strength in everything.
Weakness steel, water, ground, fighting and grass, how will we stop this?

Attacks:
1) Zen Headbutt
2) Thunder Bolt
3) Ancient Power
4) Earthquake

Strategy time!!!!
If you feel lucky and hope for the stat boost use Ancient Power.
Thunder Bolt for those Watery fiends.
Zen Headbutt is good because it's Psychic.
And of course the all powerful Earthquake that can eat most stuff.
Nothing here to stop grass, but if you use Zen Headbutt or Ancient Power on
them there shouldn't be any problems.

Nice, a dino is revived. Finally!
Hard to get a nice moveset on this one.

Rating:
3/5

Still waiting for D/P to be released. Anyone that also want Fione now can
just contact me as soon as I can get the Ditto over to it when I get D/P.

Rampardos

If you get chance to boost his speed stat with Rock Polish, Rampardos' massive attack stat will wreak havoc on your opponent's pokémon. With poor defenses, it's a risky tactic to choose.

Reeve Rampardos.
# 409.
Type: Rock.
Ability: Mold breaker.
Locations: Evolve Cranidos.

Hi everyone. Welcome to another Pokémon of the Week. Today we’re reviewing Cranidos, the head butt Pokémon.

I love this guy, I’ve been looking for a shiny Cranidos to train and evolve to this guy just because it’s functional brute force. Yeah, it has no type combination and it is somehow predictable, but if you manage to keep Rampardos alive long enough it will be an unstoppable force. It is somehow slow so you will have to be aware of that at all time.

Mold breaker is a cool ability, but you might not take full advantage of it, as your opponent will always try to fight Rampardos with type advantage.

Let’s move on to the move combinations, let’s see what’s up with this guy…

Rampardos.
Nature: Adamant (+ Attack, - Special attack).
Equip: Leftovers.
EV´s: 252 Attack, 252 Defense, 4 HP.
- Swords dance
- Earthquake
- Head smash
- Zen headbutt

Use swords dance as much as possible, then just sweep. It is the easiest move combination. If you have little experience battling, this one is perfect for you. If you baton pass speed, works excellent.

Rampardos.
Nature: Adamant (+ Attack, - Special attack).
Equip: Leftovers.
EV´s: 252 Attack, 252 Defense, 4 HP.
- Swords dance
- Earthquake
- Stone edge
- Rock polish

You want to use this one if you are not baton passing or you can stand a couple turns. Then just sweep.

Rampardos.
Nature: Adamant (+ Attack, - Special attack).
Equip: Choice band.
EV´s: 252 Attack, 252 Defense, 4 HP.
- Head smash
- Earthquake
- Crunch / Zen Headbutt
- Brick break / Hammer arm

The choice bander is always lethal in early game. Just take it out, sweep and switch. It won’t probably last long, but it will take at least 2 of your foe’s Pokémon easily if you play smart.

When should I use this Pokémon?
You might not love it as much as I do, because certainly it is not the best bander nor physical sweeper. Just use it if you like twists. If you used golem then you will feel comfortable with this one.

What should I use against this Pokémon?
A physical tank as Skarmory will stop it. Choice bander Slaking will beat it as well. Special sweepers as Starmie or Vaporeon will do great against Rampardos.

Bottom line:
Not the best, but I do like this guy. I don’t know why.

Remember, if you have DP versions and want to trade or battle with me. I already have a list of haves and wants here in the Pojo Forums; the URL is http://www.pojo.biz/board/showthread.php?t=448891 for trading (have some good shinies and legendaries). If you want to battle then send me a PM or send an e-mail to reeve.ryu@gmail.com.

Rating:
2.8/5

Hope you enjoyed.
Reeve.
