Piloswine.

# 221.

Type: Ice / Ground.

Ability: Oblivious.

Locations: Evolve Swinub, Snag from Bodybuilder Lonia (XD).

Hi everyone. Welcome to another Pokémon of the Week. Today we’re reviewing Piloswine, the Swine Pokémon.

Piloswine is a decent Pokémon, still underused. It has a nice attack so physical sweeping is going to be your best choice. The bad thing about this one is its water weakness. But still it is a good type combination.

Oblivious is a great ability, uncommon, but very good.

Being a physical sweeper it does have a very static move set, if you face one of these. It is almost sure it has this move combination:

Piloswine.

Nature: Adamant (+ Attack, - Special attack).

Equip: Leftovers.

EV´s: 252 Attack, 129 Defense, 129 Special Defense.

- Eartquake

- Ancientpower

- Return

- Ice beam

This set takes advantage of ground, rock and normal types. Ice beam is there just in case. I have seen some resting Piloswines. Some others like to use toxic instead of ice beam.

When should I use this Pokémon?

It is fun if you have the right team to cover Piloswine’s abilities. If you have a baton passer Ninjask you might want to pass speed to this one, that’s going to be a tremendous advantage for Piloswine

What should I use against this Pokémon?

Water types, unfortunately, Piloswine can’t handle any of them.

Bottom line:

At this point, we already know Piloswine can evolve, so the new move combinations will be something interesting to analyze.

Rating:

2.8/5

Hope you enjoyed.

Reeve.

Type Ice, Ground
Ability(s): Oblivious, Snow Cloak
Locations: Evolve Swinub (Lvl 33)
Snagged from Bodybuilder Lonia in The Under Subway
(Colosseum)

Today we are reviewing the swine Pokémon, Piloswine.

Piloswine is an underappreciated ice Pokemon due to its speed. Piloswine does have a low speed, but it is a great Pokemon because it is also Part ground. With the release of Diamond and Pearl, Piloswine became even better. It got a bunch of new physical attacks and the ability Snow Cloak (Piloswine's Evasion Rises in a Hailstorm). The best thing that happened to Piloswine is it evolves.

With that said, here are some battle strategies for Piloswine:

Piloswine
Nature: Adament (+attack, -special attack)
EV’s: 252 attack, 129 hp, 129 speed
Ability: Snow Cloak
Equip: Icy Rock
-Hail (TM 07)
-Ice Fang (Lvl 28)
-Earthquake (Lvl 40, TM 26)
-Stone Edge (TM 71)

A modified Physical Sweeper. Nothing real special .

Piloswine
Nature: Impish (+defense, -special attack)
EV’s: 170 defense, 170 special defense, 170 hp
Ability: Snow Cloak
Equip: Icy Rock
-Hail (TM 07)
-Double Team (TM 32)
-Amnesia (Lvl 65)
-Toxic (TM 06)

A wall Pokemon. Start with Hail, then Double Team, and then toxic.

Bottom Line: Piloswine is an average ice Pokemon. It should be evolved to make it better.

Rating: 2.5/5
James
