Pojo's Pokemon of the Week

Flareon

Date Reviewed: 03.09.07

Ratings & Reviews Summary: 2.55

Ratings are based on a 1 to 5 scale.
1 being the worst.  3 ... average.  5 is the highest rating.

Reeve Flareon.
# 136.
Type: Fire.
Ability: Flash fire.
Locations: Evolve Eevee.

Hi everyone. Welcome to another Pokémon of the Week. Today we’re reviewing Flareon, the flame Pokémon.

Flareon has a very high Attack, unfortunately that’s about it. HP and defense are low, special defense is ok, maybe even to survive serious water attacks. This is the least used of all eeveelutions because of the stats and the fact that it has a very limited move pool.

Flash fire is similar to water absorb, unfortunately you won’t be facing many opponents using fire attacks against a Flareon.

As I said, Flareon has a very high attack right? So there are not many uses for this one. Let’s build the physical sweeper.

Flareon.
Nature: Adamant (+ Attack, - Special attack).
Equip: Liechi berry.
EV´s: 252 Attack, 252 Defense, 6 HP.
- Return
- HP fighting
- Shadow ball
- Overheat

Not exactly a total physical sweeper huh? Let’s say; return and HP for our main purpose, shadow ball for ghosts and overheat in case of emergencies.

Flareon.
Nature: Jolly (+ Speed, - Special attack).
Equip: Salac berry.
EV´s: 252 Attack, 252 Speed, 6 HP.
- Return
- Endure
- Flail
- Overheat

I don’t really like this one. I’ve never been good with the flail strategy. If you are interested try it. The only disadvantage of this one is the speed.

When should I use this Pokémon?
If you have a fun Eevee team (like me) this one can’t be out of it. Otherwise this one shouldn’t be in any team. I like Flareon’s style. Unfortunately there are better physical sweepers.

What should I use against this Pokémon?
Dugtrio. Suicune will take it in two turns max. If you’re going to use ghosts remember the little shadow ball detail.

Bottom line:
I like it, but also have to face it; this one is not a good Pokémon.

Rating:
2.1/5

Hope you enjoyed.

So Flareon one of the Eeveloutions, Lets see what I got on this lil guy hmmm
Well solid fire can be a drag but look at the special attack and special Defense on this guy, you’ll be screwed if you don’t have a tm for him like fire blast or flamethrower because not many trainers will push it to the limit for this guy to learn flamethrower at lv 52 but with a Special Attack like that Overheat makes this cat one bad kitty, I love the flash fire ability it gets me every time I battle one of these guys I really don’t have much to say about this guy but you know how it is arriving at Level 20 as an eevee in celadon city then using a firestone, you better have a tm for this pokemon and some candy’s if you want to catch up with the rest of your poke party but then again EV training works out great for him so I’ll give my Flareon buddy his props.
But the fire kitty isn’t the only one getting props
Reeve gets em 2 every week faithfully you’re the best.

3/5 is what I say

Lilgroudon’s poke fact
Flareon blew up as an ex pokemon card in Delta species combining with one of the most awesome archetype decks in history Flariados, then during the tournaments of City’s of 2007 on pokegym having a Flareon avatar was contagious as it supported the use of the Flariados card.
