Ratings are based on a 1 to 5 scale.

Reeve Moltres.
# 146.
Type: Fire/Flying.
Ability: Pressure.
Locations: Mt. Ember (FireRed, LeafGreen).

Hi everyone. Welcome to another Pokémon of the Week. Today we’re reviewing the last of the three legendary birds; Moltres.

Not very good move pool, not very good defenses and certainly not an impressive Pokémon. But hey, we’re here to make this one a decent one as well aren’t we? Don’t worry. Moltres has high Special attack so we’re focusing on that.

Moltres has the legendaries ability “pressure”. Nothing too great, you should know abut this…

Now, we’re having two move combinations this week; the overheater and a new one out of Pokémon XD for Nintendo Gamecube.

Moltres.
Nature: Timid (+ Speed, - Attack).
Equip: Salac berry.
EV´s: 252 Speed, 252 Special attack, 6 HP.
- Overheat
- Sunny day
- Toxic
- Aerial ace

Pick fire blast if you don’t like overheat. Also you might want to try moves as HP grass or will-o-wisp. Just remember; use Overheat when necessary, don’t abuse.

Moltres.
Nature: Timid (+ Speed, - Attack).
Equip: Salac berry.
EV´s: 252 Speed, 252 Special attack, 6 HP.
- Flamethrower
- Toxic
- Sunny day
- Morning sun

Yeah, the XD Moltres, as you see, it has Morning sun which makes Moltres stay alive for a little longer. We’re replacing Fire blast(Overheat for flamethrower because you might run out of PP, an being your only offensive move, that’s very bad.

When should I use this Pokémon?
I don’t know, use it just for fun. As a casual Fire sweeper

What should I use against this Pokémon?
Water or rock Pokémon. Usable legendaries as Suicune or Kyogre take this one out easily.

Bottom line:
We have reviewed the three legendary birds. Nothing so great. But remember is not the quality of the Pokémon, but the ability of the trainer that matters ;)

Rating:
2/5

Hope you enjoyed.
Reeve.
