Summer Pokemon Shopping!
July 1, 2013

While everyone waits for Pokémon X & Y, there are still "new" Pokémon items showing up at stores this summer. I thought I'd share this weekend's finds since pickings have been slim lately. I found Pocket Monsters Best Wishes merchandise at my local Japanese import gift shop; they had this awesome double decker bento box and cute keychain danglers. I also spotted a cup set which I did not get. At Target, I found a blister pack that included 2 older Black & White expansion boosters and a Kaiyodo Mewtwo figure similar to the one in a prior box set (the base is paler and unlabeled on this one); this item is $9.99. How I managed to snap the photo without major glare is beyond me; in the background you can see the pillowcase I made some years ago with Pokémon fabric I purchased at Wal-Mart. I wish craft stores still had Pokémon fabric, pillowcases are super-easy to make with 1 yard of fabric if you have a sewing machine handy!

Happy 4th of July! I can't wait for the fall wave of new toys that should be starting to hit shelves soon, even if Pokémon toys don't show up for a while.

Pika!
