New TCG gift set and many new Japanese items!
February 12, 2007

Last week I spotted a new Pokemon TCG boxed gift set. Tauros is the star in this set that contains:

3 assorted ex TCG boosters,1 POP Series 3 2-card booster, and 1 Tauros foil card, spotted at Target for $10.99.

Although Marumiya's site is not yet updated (take a look, though, at all the new Pokemon food since the last time I posted!), I can assure you Diamond and Pearl characters now grace the packaging of their rice seasoning, found at a local Japanese grocer over the weekend:

Bandai has some new sets pictured on their candy-toy site:

I haven't seen these locally yet, but, LOL :D, check out Pikachu in this one:

I notice a Raichu in there, among the Diamond and Pearl characters, too--which reminds me that I managed to find ex Power Keepers boosters out a bit early (and a bit pricey at this particular chain store--$4.19?! :O), grabbed only one (waiting for Target/Wal-mart which will have a lower price!) with a Raichu on the pack... thought to myself, hmm, too bad the pic on the pack... only to find a reverse foil Raichu inside! Don't forget to check your local stores on Wednesday. Ex Power Keepers for Valentines 4 sure!!!

Now here is what I wanted to show you:

I did find these over the weekend at the grocer--gold, silver and bronze (or copper?) toned Pokemon Medallions by Bandai. Notice the 3 Diamond/Pearl starters are represented. There is a tiny piece of candy (hey, Japanese candy-toys are parent friendly--very small candy, very little to rot teeth!--and heap big toy to please the kids!) in the pack, cola flavored from what my tongue could tell... There are instructions inside to play a battle game, but, if you can't read Japanese, these would make pretty flashy coin-toss pieces at a TCG match! I paid a meager $1.99 ea. for these, tho' I expect anime stores that stock such would be higher...

Happy Valentine's Day!

Loretta
