New DVD's & Tins
February 1, 2007

Slow news since the big Jakks launch--but, good news that many stores are again carrying Pokemon Toys! Check out the new line at Wal-Mart, TRU, K-B and our ever faithful to the journey, Target! Just because I haven't spotted anything new toy-wise lately, I thought I would re-check the DVD front. We all have heard about the "Pokemon Ranger and the Temple of the Sea" release on April 3, 2007; however, I spotted another, Amazon exclusive 3 disk set for the movie announced on amazon.com. No real details on their site yet, but, sounds interesting. Also, Amazon has the next two volumes of Pokemon Advanced Battle now listed, v.7 "Shocks and Bonds" and v.8 "A Judgment Brawl" both slated for March 6, 2007 release.

If you mail order, you're in good shape; however, locally, I've had a hard time this year finding the new releases. F.Y.E. did not order v.5 or v.6 Adv. Battle and Best Buy has been remiss about stocking Pokemon releases in any sort of quantity. I end up calling all over town, but, I have had good luck dealing with Borders, which usually orders one or two copies for release date (and they, unlike Best Buy, will let you special order in-store which is great for someone like me that does not have a PC at home and isn't around at the right time to meet the UPS delivery person). Also, my local TRU had a large quantity of v.5 and v.6 in stock the last time I looked--which was a shocker because they had not been stocking Pokemon DVDs (the series) for some time. I don't know if other fans have had similar problems; my city has about 1 million people in the area, so, we're not exactly a Cowtown--haha, then again... :)
