Cadet-Captain Mike

Name:    La Hada (Spain)

Card:    FN #057 (Rare)

Points:  12

Masts: 3

Cargo: 2

Moves: L

Guns : 4S,3S,3S

Hit %: 133 (S), 0 (L)

Ability: Icebreaker. Ramming cannot eliminate this ship's masts.

"La Hada" means "The Fairy." I admit, the idea of Tinkerbell busting up icebergs with her magic wand is a tough one to swallow. Maybe fairies mean something different in Spanish culture.

The ship herself is rather ordinary. Her ability is defensive, which protects her against ships like yesterday's HMS Granville, but doesn't allow her to actually do anything special. With sub-average cannons, low speed, and small cargo holds, there isn't much else she can do; icebergs are all she's good for. 12 points is a bit much for a one-trick pony like this.

If you want to clean the ice out of your neighborhood on a budget, La Hada is the cheapest icebreaker out there (except for the limited-edition Polaris, which has twice the cargo, better cannons, and a better ability for the same point cost). But as soon as the bergs are gone, she's kind of useless. I don't recommend using her.
