Ability: This ship may move and shoot using the same move action. Once per turn, you may reroll any die roll you make for this ship; you must use the second die roll result.
 
Most navies have a crew like this; the Almirante's abilities are not unique to Spain. But they're very useful on a fighting ship. The Captain is always needed, and the reroll can serve as a replacement Cannoneer or help out with a boarding action. This crew really shines on La Santa Ana (SCS), which gets a second action, or the San Cristobal (RF), which gets a same-action-twice. A reroll for that ability will have your big gunships double-zipping across the waves and double-blasting your enemies about half the time, instead of 1/3 of the time, which is what they get without the reroll. Those ships shouldn't leave port without this Almirante.

Ability: This ship gets +1 to her cannon rolls against any non-Spanish ship or fort.
 
This almirante is your basic world-hater. The more cannons he can affect, the better a value he is, so never put him on anything smaller than a four-masted gunship; five masts are better. Most Spanish five-masters have rather so-so cannons, so they need all the help they can get. If you expect to do any serious fighting under the Spanish flag, and you don't have La Tartessos (which has the Almirante's ability built in), then you should definitely have this crew on your biggest ship.
