Cadet-Captain Mike

Name: Sea Dragon (Corsairs)
Card: BC #008 (Common)
Points: 13
Masts: 3
Cargo: 4
Moves: S+S
Guns : 3S,3S,5S
Hit %: 117 (S), 0 (L)
Link : Uluj Ali
Ability: Galley. As part of a move action, this ship may initiate a boarding party against a ship up to S away from her, without having to ram. The boarded ship may not use any boarding bonuses.

"Sea" Ships Week begins with the Sea Dragon, a decidedly mediocre galley from the Barbary Coast release.

Her cannons are quite uninspiring. You can upgun her by adding her linked crew, Uluj Ali, the Corsair Marine with a bonus against the Spanish, but that's seven points to add one cannon. Her cargo is decent, but to run gold, you'd have to lose a cargo space to a Helmsman. The S-board ability can be fun, but she can't take on big ships like a lot of S-boarders can. The Fire Djinn costs the same, and has the same speed and ability, but with one more mast so she can tackle the big boys more effectively.

What would I use the Sea Dragon for? Ummm... sorry, not much. She's a very average ship, and the Corsairs have enough above-average ships that this one should stay in port forever. She's not awful, but you can do much better.

Goldship rating: 3.3 / 5
Gun Ship rating: 2.6 / 5
Boarding rating: 3.3 / 5
Value for points: 3.1 / 5
