Cadet-Captain Mike Name: Winds of Vengeance (Corsairs)
Card: BC #010 (Common)
Points: 6
Masts: 3
Cargo: 4
Moves: S+S
Guns : 4S,4S,5S
Hit %: 83 (S), 0 (L)
Ability: Galley. Eliminate one of this ship’s masts when she rolls a 1 on any cannon roll.

This ship kicks off Corsairs With Really Bad Cannons Week, and all I can say is, "If you think these guns are bad, you ain't seen nothin' yet!"

With her negative ability, the Winds of Vengeance wouldn't be a good fighter even if she could hit the broad side of a barn (which she can't). But with good cargo, decent speed, and a very low point cost, she is obviously a gold ship. A Helmsman is optional; you may want the extra speed, or you might prefer to keep all four cargo spaces open for gold. Three masts makes her more survivable than most cheap gold ships, too.

The Winds of Vengeance will never win many plaudits from aggressive, shoot-anything-that-moves admirals like me. But she's a very good choice if you have gold on your mind. This is one ship where you can afford to ignore the bad cannons; she'll serve you well in spite of them.

Goldship rating: 3.1 / 5
Gun Ship rating: 1.6 / 5
Boarding rating: 2.8 / 5
Value for points: 3.3 / 5
