Keyword: Sea Monster.
Ability: This sea monster gets +2 to its ram rolls.

"Carcharodon" is the scientific name for the great white shark (and its extinct kin), some of the most effective killers in the sea. That can't be said of this shark, though.

Sea monsters do most of their damage by ramming and boarding. +2 on ramming rolls means she hits as hard as a sea serpent, which is good.
But she's only a 2-masted ship for a boarding roll, which is bad if the enemy had 3 or more masts to start with. Like any 2-masted ship, Carcharodon dies too easily under gunfire. The solution is to pick on
1- and 2-masted ships, and stay under water when the big boats come around. Her speed is adequate for harassing gold ships or blockading a home island. Her cannons are just average; the damage they'll do isn't worth the risk of taking irreparable battle damage in return. Lurk under water, and strike when a small ship blunders into range.

My big issue with this shark is its price. For the same cost, you could get the sea serpent Shaihulud, with better speed and twice the cannons, plus the ability to attack submerged ships. If you have to have a shark, get Squalo; she's a little slower, but a lot cheaper (9 points) and she has Fear, which works even while under water.

I can't give this critter high marks, because she's basically average and very overpriced.

Total rating: 2 / 5
