If you're just using ships and crew from the Pirates
of the Caribbean set, where there is nothing but
Pirates and English, this ship's "ability" can bite
you hard. In "normal" games of Pirates, you'll have
to know your enemies and decide if you're likely to
face any English. In any case, this ship isn't meant
to get shot at. She's a gold ship, and with fair
speed and very good cargo for only six points, she's
a very good gold ship indeed.
You could add a Helmsman to her for blazing speed,
or an Explorer for fast turnarounds at wild islands.
But if you're out of points for crew, the Dragon
will bring in the golden goodies just fine with no
crew at all. It's always nice to find a ship with a
clearly defined role, that does well in its role,
and doesn't cost an arm and a leg.
