Exactly what is this ship meant to do? What is her intended role? I confess to not being sure.

Her link to the "exclusive explorer" crew, Malaspina, suggests that she's a gold runner. But 4 cargo is just adequate for gold, and for a Spanish ship, it's actually on the small side. She's also too slow for effective gold grabbing.

Her cannons, which are as good as you're going to find on a 3-masted ship, suggest a fighting strategy. She'll make a good enough gunship, no argument, and four cargo is enough to add some good fighting crew.
But neither her linked crew nor her special ability give her any help when the cannons roar.

Her ability suggests boarding actions, especially against those pestiferous sea monsters that have plagued the Spanish Main of late.
She can board a kraken with a 50/50 chance of winning, and she has a 17% advantage when boarding a sea serpent. But why bother? Sea monsters have no crew to kill, and their gold comes solely from boarding actions, which means it's the lowest-valued coin their victim carried. So you're boarding in the knowledge that you're probably going to win a 1-gold coin. How exciting.

The best purpose I can see for this ship is as a defensive fighter.
Give her a Captain and a Helmsman, and send her to guard your gold ships against sea monster attack. The critters won't dare board you, and if they surface for a "cannon" attack, you'll get the first shot. You'll also be in good shape if an enemy fighting ship tries to blast your gold ships, as long as that enemy ship isn't too big.

The other trouble with this ship is her cost, which seems high for what you get. That, and her confused role, count against her. Her various talents suggest an attempt to make a generically useful ship. But jacks of all trades are usually masters of none, and so it is with El Extremadura.
