La Cordoba's ability says "gold ship," but in real
life, she's no gold ship. She's gotta have a
Helmsman, which means she has only one space free
for gold. Okay, that one gold gets its value bumped
up a notch. But if gold is your game, you could
spend one more point for El Raton, El Algeciras, and
El Hambre, for four free cargo at higher speeds. The
only way to get more use out of her for gold is to
use Master Bianco (SS), the Spanish Cargo Master.
Fortunately, this ship also has decent guns, so you
can use her as a support fighter. In that regard,
she gives more bang for the buck than any other
Spaniard in her price bracket. So if you're wanting
to give this ship a try, I'd give her a Captain and
Helmsman and use her as an escort for something big
and bad. You're paying for an ability you'll never
use, but that ability will never do you much good
anyway, so why not?

Today we review La Cordoba, not the most outstanding
ship. Her stats are average and the Spanish have
better ships with this ability. La Santa Anna is
one.
Her cargo is a low and her speed isn’t the best. I
would put aboard Luis Zuan R/F, so you have captain
+ helmsman so that second cargo is left open. Sent
her out as a secondary fighter and if the
opportunity presents itself. Off load a coin from
either a gold runner or the last pennies from a wild
island onto this ship. Then take it back to your HI.
This is a great way to boost the value of those one
value gold pieces.
I can’t really think of much else to use her for. As
I’ve said, the Spanish have a few ships that are
better than this one. She’s just a little out
classed.
