Ability: This ship may dock at an enemy home island
and load one treasure. If able, she must leave on
your next turn.
L'Auguste, or "La Goose" as she is derisively
referred to in our gaming group, is a so-so ship
with good points and bad points.
Cargo is good, as is her #2 cannon. Price is bad, as
are her other two cannons. Speed is strictly
average. Her ability can work only if you speed her
up with a Helmsman. But if you want to rob home
islands, L'Heros will do a better job; she costs the
same, doesn't need the Helmsman, and carries better
cannons. Come to think of it, L'Heros can improve on
everything this ship might do.
But if you don't own L'Heros, then L'Auguste isn't a
bad ship. She isn't a good one, either. She could
have been, if she had a bit more speed or a lower
price. But she doesn't. Oh, well.
