Cadet-Captain Mike Name: Sea Rat (Cursed)
Card: OE #015 (Common)
Points: 10
Masts: 2
Cargo: 5
Moves: L
Guns : 5S,5S
Hit %: 33 (S), 0 (L)
Ability: Junk. This ship may dock at an enemy home island and load one treasure. If able, she must leave on your next turn.

Compared to yesterday's ship, the Sea Rat is a much better value. "Better value" - those are two words that you don't associate with the Cursed very often.

She's cheaper than the Gilded Monkey and carries more cargo. She also has much worse cannons, which doesn't matter, and one fewer masts, which could leave her vulnerable to counter-attack. She'll need a Helmsman for sure, which runs her sail-away cost up to 12 but leaves her with 4 cargo still free. That price is low enough, and that cargo is high enough, that the Sea Rat can probably earn her keep as a gold ship, even if you never try to use her ability. That's important; if the enemy doesn't let you steal his treasures, you aren't stuck, but can still use the ship effectively.

This little junk is one of the Cursed faction's better gold ships. Her ability might come in handy if she gets a chance to use it, but if not, she can still earn her keep.

Draco Starcloud Sea Rat

Since all the ships this week are going to have the ability to steal gold from enemy home islands, I thought I'd simplify my reviews for the week.

Cargo Space: Five spaces is great for this kind of ship.

Masts: Two 5S guns are fine since you want this ship to run away with all the gold it's hopefully carrying.

Base Move: Just an "L" so you'd need a Helmsman aboard.

Point Value: 10 points is an okay price to pay.

If the Sea Rat had had better base move, then it'd've been perfect at this role.

I give the Sea Rat a 3.5/5.
