Ability: This fort has one 2 L-range cannon. When
placing this fort, indicate this cannon by placing
two flags side by side.
When this fort came out, its special ability caused
some confusion. It sure sounds like it has one
cannon with L+L range, but the official ruling is
that it has one 2L cannon instead of a 3L. So why
didn't they just say so on the deck plate?
Anyway, this is one tough fort. Five average cannons
with L range means it won't fold up and die easily,
and it will probably inflict some serious hurt on
anyone who tries. It has the weakness common to most
forts, in that it's defenseless against ships that
can't be hit by L cannons, so you may want to keep a
ship with S cannons nearby. Ships that lack the
above ability will probably steer clear of the fort
altogether, which is usually what you want when you
build a fort.
This isn't the best fighting fort - Paradis de la
Mer holds that distinction - but it's one of the
best. If you're looking to put up a strong "No
Trespassing" sign somewhere, this is a good way to
do it.
