Ability: This crew takes up no cargo space when
revealed. When revealed, put a crew with point cost
2 or less from outside of the game onto this ship.
This crew comes on the same card as Administrator
Scott Bratley, England's +5-point crew, so he'll be
in a lot of collections. He begs the question, "Why
spend three points when all you get is a two-point
crew?"
The answer could be summed up in three words: "Just
in case." You never know how the winds of battle are
going to blow, and sometimes you could kick yourself
for not buying the right crew. Cameron can help with
that, by letting you pick the right crew exactly
when you need it.
Is an enemy about to escape because you missed one
too many cannon shots? Use Cameron to pull in a
Cannoneer and try again. Are you about to lose your
prize ship? If a Shipwright can help, Cameron can
get him there. He can replace a Helmsman who just
got eliminated, or give you a Chainshot Specialist
to get you out of a jam. He can even pull in some
named crew, like Powder Pete or the Lynch's Noose.
A nice bonus for this crew is that he takes up no
cargo spaces. You have to keep a space free for the
crew he pulls in, but until you do so, you can use
that space for gold.
I've never used Cameron, but I can definitely see
his virtues. Most of the other factions have similar
crew for the same price, so I'd have to say his
point value is fair.
