Pirates of the Revolution – Enterprise

Name: Enterprise

Set: POR

Card #s: 070

Type: Ship

Cost: 18 Points

Faction: American

Masts: 5

Cargo: 5

Cannons 2S, 2S, 2S, 2S, 2S

Movement 1S + 1S

Ability: “Once per turn, roll a d6. On a 5 or 6, this ship may be given an extra action”

Flavor Text: Members of seasoned merchant-vessel crews familiar with the North Atlantic give the Enterprise an advantage in northern waters.

The Enterprise is the big gunner for the Americans, though that might be somewhat in dispute.  The Enterprise SCREAMS out to have Admiral Crenshaw on board (all cannons go to L range), and a Captain (move and shoot).  John Paul Jones won’t do any good, since abilities don’t stack, and there currently isn’t a sacrifice captain for the Americans.  Ideal crew would also include a Helmsman, but that’s a given.  In today’s meta, that’s about all you want to include, and Crenshaw isn’t necessarily a must have.  In fact, he’s more of a luxury.  What this ship needs is a crew member who has the ability to cancel other crew member’s abilities.  Unfortunately there isn’t one for the Americans, so this would be a prime candidate for use with the Castaway treasure, if you can get it, you can load ANY crew from outside the game, and they get your ship’s faction.  Sure, it’s a rare shot, but it’s worth trying at least once.

Enterprise 1st Ed Rare (#70) Completed Auction Review – 7-5-05

# of completed Auctions: 11

High Amount: $10.50

Low Amount:  $ 4.25

Average Amount $7.33

The Enterprise is one of the more highly sought after Rares in Revolution right now.  Probably because Americans are the flavor of the month, and this is a great ship, with a great name.  Can’t wait to pull one (or trade for one)!

Welcome to our THIRD week of reviewing! Today we'll be reviewing Enterprise, a Rare American ship from PotR. Points: 18 is decent for the amount of stats this thing has, but is still almost half your normal point amount. As usual with 5 masters, better in huge games with 60+ points points. Point rating: 7/10. Masts: 5 Masts Mast Rating: 5/5. Cannons: 5 Cannons. Mast 1 Cannon 2S Mast 2 Cannon 2S Mast 3 Cannon 2S Mast 4 Cannon 2S Mast 5 Cannon 2S All cannons are 2S, something which, while easy to roll, does not go very far. Still, chances are if you DO get this close, you'll be hitting with at least 3, and probably all of them. Cannon Rating: 8/10 Movement: 2S. Slightly Faster than L, this will get you where you need to be Movement Rating: 3/5 Cargo: 5 Cargo. It has a high point value, so crew will work well on this ship. It also is just fast enough to get treasure when you need it. Cargo Rating: 8/10 Ability: Statistically, every 3rd turn, you get a free action. Nice. Very, very nice. Ability Rating: 9/10 This is quite an interesting hybrid ship. It's a GREAT short ranger, while also providing enough to be a treasure hunter Total Rating: 4/5

Enterprise POR #70

Once per turn, roll a d6. On a 5 or 6, this ship may be given an extra action

This ship is one big bad momma. For 18 points you get yourself an interesting battle ship. Five cargo slots is normal on these kinds of ships. Movement of 2S is really what sets this ship apart from the rest, being able to out move most other warships with L range. The only problem with this is that all of its cannons are 2S range. Basically any real advantage against other warships is lost, and this ship is mostly meant against treasure ships. Its ability makes up for its lack of range weakness and really needs tomorrows card to be an effective fighter. Being the American version of the HMS Titan I give this ship a thumbs down, but as far as the American go this ship will win you the game against an army of treasure vessel ships.

Constructed: 4/5 in American, in a full all out army would rather use Titan 1/5
Limited: 4.5/5 Amazing rare war ship here.

Enterprise: Once per turn roll a die 6. On a 5 or 6 this ship gets an extra action.

This ship is very good my favorite american ship (by the way I have all 3 big gunners). 5 cargo is a great score. S + S is a good base move. Five masts is the best. It has 5 2S cannons- perfect. The effect is good for a large ship, and the 18 points are reasonable.

Cannons: Five 2S cannons are perfect for a large ship. The short-range could be improved, though. Five cannons will stay around for a long time so the same thing with your ship.
5/5

Masts: five masts give it a 5/5

Speed: the speed-S + S is fast for a large ship. You could put a helmsman on board to really get it going. This ship is an attacker, so it has to have a good speed. 4/5

Cargo: Five cargo is enough for two crew and some treasure space. Don't worry if you have to use 3+ cargo for crew, that just makes this ship even better. 4/5

Effect: The effect is what makes this ship shine (well, at least half). Being able to get an extra action about one in every three turns is excellent. A captain on board will make the effect even better. 4.5/5

Overall a 4.75/5, a close to perfect rating.

Crew to use from best to least: Captain, Helmsman, Firepot Specialist, Shipwright.

Note that in the ''crew to use" section I don't put in named crew.

Commander Albert Crenshaw Revolution-American

All of this ship's cannons have L range 5 Pts.

Well this crew in my opinion is not that great. For five points and a cargo spot you only get a cannon upgrade. The only ship that might work with this is Enterprise but even then Most of your opponent's cannons are L range too or will be a ship hunter. If your ship can shoot throgh other ships that would also be a good reason.

I rate this crew a 2.5/5 just not that great.....

King George Revolution-American

Once per turn this ship may randomly take one treasure from a ship she touches. 4pts.

I really don't see the use of this card because if you hunt for treasure, your ship will usually have not enough room for useless cargo, it usually will be fullto cargo capacity, and the major thing- it won't be a battler. If this crew was a few points less (about 2), it would be better. Just not a lot of uses for this crew.

Overall 2/5- bad.
