Beastly Mage

Hinata Hyuga

Today's card is pretty interesting. A T1 Hinata with 0/2 when Healthy and 3/0 when Injured, plus 1 MP and Growth. The stats are OK (particularly for a Genin Hinata), but the effect is what draws your attention. During the EoJ you can send her to your Chakra Area to negate a Jutsu that has been put in play. The only way to cancel this is if the owner of that Jutsu discards one Chakra. So, in a sense, this is an Earth card that could fit into Chakra Control (usually reserved for Water). Note that the text doesn't specify if she has to be battling for this effect to be used, so you can use her early on, and later use her effect in case you don't have anything for negation. This card works when your Opponent's Chakra is limited for some reason or another. If you manage to increase your Opponent's Chakra costs for Jutsus you're pretty much controlling the game like that. She's actually good Sideboard material (and probably for more than just Chakra Control). Try it and see!

Ratings:

Limited: 2/5 (early-game hitter)
Constructed: 2/5 (Sideboard)
Block: 2.5/5 (Sideboard)
