Beastly Mage
Asuma Sarutobi
Today's card is a Super-Rare version of Asuma
Sensei. This one is extremely helpful for Earth
Decks. First part of the (non-valid) effect gives
all of your Earth Ninjas +2 Mental. This includes
him. So, any Ninja with an Earth Symbol gets this
Mental boost. The second part allows any of your
teams with a combined Mental Power of 10 or more to
get a Battle Reward when you score any Victory. So,
it's kinda like [Early Settlement] with a vengeance.
Earth Decks tend to include a lot of Smart Ninjas
(such as Shikamaru) and this guy sure helps in that
deck. Also, he's got great stats. He's good in any
format, particularly in Block. Try it and see!
If you are playing a Mental Power Earth Deck, this
is THE Asuma to play. No question. He gives Mental
Buffs and allows most of your victories to rack up
extra BRs.
Limited: 4/5 Make sure you also get a Shikamaru and
plenty of Earth Ninja.
Unlimited: 3.5/5 He's not the best, but he is good
with the mission "Pressure."
Block: 3/5 This guy is a beast, but as of now, I
would rather play Set 17 Asuma.
