Beastly Mage

Akamaru

This version of Akamaru is one that can help protect your Ninjas from removal. When one of your other Ninjas is targeted for removal by an opponent's effect, you can (it's optional) move that Ninja back to your hand. This is good against plenty of effects, but he doesn't protect himself. In a Dog deck he could fit right in. In other decks he could be good sideboard material. The good thing about this effect is that it's Valid AND he's a T1 that's got Growth. Pretty good IMO. Try it and see!

That Guy

Man's Best Friend Just Got Better!

No intro necessary, besides this: How many of you duelist have played the dog deck? Seriously though, Akamaru (Nose For Danger) drops another reason to run this deck in the laps of any duelist who was thinking the age old question "Who Let The Dogs Out?"

Ah...always good to have a laugh, and when you counter your opponents removal with this perfect pup you'll be laughing all the way to battle rewards! I mean, Turn 1 with decent stats, no hand cost, and a valid anti-removal effect. The only downside on Akamaru is that he really isn't negating the problem of removal out right, rather he's offering duelist with a much less painful alternative. Look hard enough though and I guarantee this card has much potential to be abused (no puns); somebody has to running self-inflicting but cost effective jutsu's out there somewhere! Let's also not forget our fanatical pooch of power is growth, so even if your more combo oriented you can easily get your bone and bury it too! Short and sweet with this little dog treat....guaranteed tomorrow's card is just as neat!

Constructed: 3.9/5 (Some people are saying I'm rating too high but hey, a good card is a good card while bad one's will know their place.)
Limited: 4/5 (Any and all counter defenses are good defenses...trust me!)
Block: 3.5/5 (Slipping behind constructed simply because my hopes of this cards usefulness is high, but my expectations are not!)
Art: WOOF! (What else could I have said!!!)
