Beastly Mage

Kakashi Hatake (Anbu Days)

Today's card is a pretty strange version of Kakashi. Note the rank. He's Anbu, but has no Jonin anywhere. Remember that Anbu counts as a Special Jonin when it comes to rank requirements for Jutsus (though those are not that commonly used at the moment). He's also got Ambush, but his effect is from the hand. You can deploy him from your hand during your Exchange of Jutsu (this counts as a regular deployment). The other part of effect allows you to put him into any team at that moment as long as you have two or more Anbu Ninjas on your side. So, if you haven't deployed any Ninjas this turn and have two Anbu Ninjas he could serve as a surprise for your opponent. Remember that the effect counts as a deployment, so you can't deploy another Ninja on that turn. But, you can go around that by using the "put in play" effects that Anbu Ninjas have now. Only downside to this guy is that he doesn't have "non-unique" like Tenzo has. Other than that he could do good in the new Anbu deck. Try it and see!

That Guy

Kakashi of the Sharingan

While the title above might seem inaccurate to the actual name of today's card, I still like the nickname. Fitting of Bandai to end our ANBU week with one of the strongest ANBU ninjas to ever walk the Naruto world; I'm referring to the manga and anime of course, but does Kakashi Hatake (Anbu Days) measure up to the same standards? Only one way to find out....breakdown!

First thing I noticed on this card, aside from good artwork, was the list of characteristics; all fit the usual of what I expected for Kakashi but what made my day is that he has Ambush. Off the bat this card is looking amazing, duel element on top of a turn 4 with 0 hand cost...very agreeable on all terms. His effect, of course, is what makes this card shine, even amongst various other Kakashi's; fitting a direct purpose to a very optimal level (similar to other specific Kakashi's, like his alternate dog specific form) and pull of a great timed effect. Matter of fact, looking at a previous card I could swear I'm seeing the same imagery and specific purpose (grant it for pups) http://www.pojo.com/naruto/cotd/2010/July/16.shtml , if the link here is cut...I'm showing the review of Kakashi Hatake (Anbu Days) that pumps up ninja dogs. Restating the additional part of his effect is hashing the obvious, your getting a quick drop on either your or your opponents turn. Overall I approve of this card in any deck running at least two Anbu's as well as being used by players who grasp time based effects, since not every player out there always goes by tournament level dueling standards (nor should you all the time) ;).

Constructive: 4/5 (Let my Kakashi know no bounds)

Limited: ?/5 (As long as you have Anbu, your chances vary too much to adequately label a score)

Block: 4.5/5 (I see this Kakashi fitting in quite nicely in this format)

Art:  A (While we see no action on the field, we get a close up of Kakashi which is still awesome!)
