Beastly Mage

Orochimaru (Snake Form)

Today's card is one Super Rare version of Orochimaru that many had been expecting up to its release. The Snake form isn't as strong as the regular Orochimaru, though it still has the Sannin characteristic and Mental Power of 3. The reason you'd want this guy on the field wouldn't be because of his Stats, but because of his effect. At the start of your turn, you select one Ninja on your opponent's side that has an Entrance Cost lower than Orochimaru's (not so difficult since he's a turn 6). You remove Orochimaru, and get that Ninja to your side. As an added bonus, that Ninja will get an extra Characteristic: the "Orochimaru" name.

This card is good when wanting to nab a strong Ninja, or even setting up the game for a big attack. Though I see him more as Sideboard material for Water.

N-932 Orochimaru (Snake Form) [Serpent Incarnation]
=======================================

Today's card is one of the more lackluster supers in set 18. Snake Orochimaru's effect is decent, but it is slow considering it is a six drop and the effect kicks off the next turn. Stealing your opponent's ninjas is still fun, however.  Unfortunately, it is not valid so if you sniped by jutsu, you have a useless 4/3 ninja. While this card isn't terrible, it also isn't spectacular. Kakuzu and Second Hokage [Supremacy] are still the best six drops in the game for water, but this is a viable option if you cannot get the other two.
