N-713 Kakkou [HIDDEN BLADES]

And so far, the hunt for a Kid Kashi has been pretty good, what with me getting one for myself and my teammate pulling one. Just two more, and I'm done trading for another six months! Wooo! On the lighter side of things, the new Rogue List is out, and hopefully I'll have a vid up tomorrow of it on the Sideboard. Today's card is still technically a part of Gaiden week, as we see some of the villains of the saga in the Rock ninja, Kakkou! Let's check out his stats, shall we:

Now this is a card I like. Jonin is always nice to have, if not just because it's a good rank. Ambush is great, and always helpful. His power is also nice for his turn, which is rare of cards these days. Having Stone as a Combat Attribute means he can use Petrifying Attack, which is pretty cool too, and can be ran with Ishidate to really abuse the card. For an uncommon, this guy is awesome. But let's check out his effect, shall we:

When this Ninja is put in play, you can change 1 of your opponent's Ninjas with an Entrance cost of 2 to injured status.

Did you really think you were safe hiding back in the village, Shikamaru [U]? This card gives a decent snipe on one of your opponent's T2s to injure it. One thing I don't like is that you have to hit a T2 specifically rather than T2 or lower. That lost it a point in my book, but it's still a nice effect, especially for an ambush ninja. Being able to hit your opponent when they can't defend is always nice, but be careful when you try to ambush him against Water, there's a good chance they'll burn him out before you get the chance!

This is the kind of card that makes drafting both possible and fun, and that's something I really like about it. To me, this is a good card in both limited and constructed, and I think it'd be quite nice to see more Stone support in future sets.

Limited: 3.75/5 I like it, it's not game breaking, but it's totally worth drafting.
Constructed: 3/5 Nothing insane to use with that Jonin status, and that makes me sad...
Block: 3.5/5 A little better here, as it's a nice Jonin for Earth, which is always nice.
Art: I've never seen a guy with an afro have that "Deliverance" look in his eyes...my sleep will no longer be peaceful.../5
