Beastly Mage

Fire Style: Flaming Rasengan

Wait... it's Fire Style... yet it's a Lightning card... o.0

OK, enough of that!

Today's card is one of Jiraiya's techniques from the Ultimate Ninja games. This version of Rasengan not only gives Jiraiya +5/+0, but if his team gets a Victory or Outstanding Victory you can discard one of the Ninjas battling against Jiraiya. This is a great effect, but no better than other Rasengans going around.

Fire Style: Flame Rasengan

Today we have Jiraiyaʼs Flaming Rasengan. This card didn't appeal to me for many reasons when I first saw this card. First off, the user requirement is more specific than a regular Rasengan. Secondly, some of the other Rasenganʼs give +7/+0 as opposed to this card which only gives +5/+0. Lastly, the effect is a little ho hum for me for the cost of the jutsu. The problem I have with pump jutsus is that these cards are useless in your hand if your opponent Sand Tombs, Trigrams, or Vortexes you. And during late game (when Jiraiya is out), Flaming Rasengan is obsolete because removal jutsus run amuck. My suggestion for if you really want a Jiraiya jutsu in your deck is either run the Rasengan from Quest for Power (the one that changes a victory to an outstanding victory) so at least you have a more flexible user requirement, or run Toad Mouth Trap (a Jiraiya jutsu from Dream Legacy).

Jacobe Gege J-303 Fire Style: Flame Rasengan

Big J is in the house with his Fire Rasengan!!! The effect of the jutsu should give him +7/+0, for a more awesome version of rasengan, +5/+0 is nothing!!! His effect is pretty sweet, discarding a ninja, but in this regard isn't Lightning Blade better? It costs less, discards BEFORE the showdown...Again in limited this fails.

Limited: 1.5/5
