Naruto Uzumaki [Legacy of the Fourth Hokage]
Leaf/Male/Genin/Growth/Lightning
Turn Cost: 0
Combat/Support: 0/0, 3/0 injured

Effect: When this Ninja is put in play, draw 1 card. Valid: Akatsuki Ninjas in your opponent's hand get -1 entrance cost.

Welcome to another week of Dream Legacy reviews! This week is gonna be full of interesting ninjas, so let's get started!

Here we have one of the obligatory new Narutos. This one is similar to Rock Lee [Serious Injuries] in that he is an offensively weaker ninja that nets you a bit of card advantage when he is put into play. Ironically, it would have been better if Naruto was also deployed in injured status-instead he has a pitiful 0/0 healthy stat to work with. The main strategy here would be to use him for the card draw, then growth him immediately into Naruto [Control of Power] to give you stronger field presence. The "drawback" of this naruto is that Akatsuki ninjas can come into play a turn sooner. Right now, there are only 2 in existence, so it won't come into play a whole lot, but watch out for a potentially earlier Itachi...

Beastly Mage

Naruto Uzumaki (n-0187)

Beastly Mage here, Naruto Fans. Today's card is one that's seeing a lot of play lately: Naruto Uzumaki (Legacy of the Fourth Hokage). Once this guy hits the field you draw a card, even by Growth. Problem is that when he's on the field every Akatsuki in your opponent's hand gets -1 entrance cost. Thing is that facing Akatsukis is not that common right now. In a Lightning deck/Lightning hybrid he's pretty good, giving necessary draw power as well as a Growth Ninja. Plus, he's Oil, making him a valid user for Summoning Jutsu (Toads). Try it and see.

Akira

This naruto has an okay effect when you put it into play. It's not nearly as good as Naruto [Control of Power] in terms of combat, though, and I would much rather have the dominating possible 6-7 combat Naruto CoP provides than 1 card. However, if my knowledge of the ruling is correct, when you growth Naruto Legacy from the Fourth Hokage, you can draw an additional card, making this guy like Nawaki, except he doesn't die as quickly.

In constructed, I've seen him in a few decks...but trust me, when I drop CoP and my opponent drops Legacy, the battle quickly swings in my favor.

If you play him, I would honestly say run 2 CoP and 1 Legacy if you run Legacy at all. CoP is just too good not to be playing on turn 0 consistently.

In Dream Legacy limited, he is great. A little bit of card advantage goes a long way, and an early 3/0 isn't too bad either. Plus you have a chance of getting several so the additional card draw is great.

I'm not 100% positive about the "double draw" effect at the time of this writing so you may want to check it out for yourself.

Naruto Uzumaki
Leaf/Genin/Male/Growth
Element: Lightning
Combat attribute: Oil
Entrance Cost: 0
Effect: Legacy From the Fourth Hokage
Effect Text: When this Ninja is put in play draw one card.
Valid: Every "Akatsuki" Ninja in your opponents hand gets -1 entrance cost
Power: 0/0 Healthy, 3/0 injured
Rarity: Uncommon

Alright everyone, SmittySensei here to review our first card of the week, Naruto Uzumaki (Legacy From the Fourth Hokage)!

My first impression of the card is that's not bad, but it's not the best either. The great thing about it is the first part of his effect, you can draw one card when he's put in play. Drawing cards is almost always useful, and it's a great card to put in play if you're forced to redraw down to five or even four. The downside to the card, however, is that it gives every opposing Akatsuki member a -1 entrance cost. At first this seems not all that bad, but on further inspection you realize how risky it really is.

I thought originally that the Akatsuki part of his effect wasn't very risky until I realized some things. The first problem I overlooked was that the effect is valid, meaning you can't injure Naruto to get out of the effect. The two favorite and arguably the two most powerful archetypes at the moment are fire and water, both of which have an Akatsuki member. Unless you know your opponents deck through and through, it's a risk I really wouldn't want to take. It's best to try and avoid helping your opponent if you can, and the fortunate thing is that there are other Narutos out there that are better to run in the 0 drop spot.

In limited he's beat out by his other incarnation, but he's one of the best 0 drops in the set regardless.

One last thought, if you're really sold on drawing a card, you can safely run this version of Naruto. Play him early, and use him as a kill card before turn four. Anytime after four is too risky.

Scores:
Constructed: 3.0
Limited: 3.5
Art: 4.0 (His foil is one of the coolest out there)

Overall score: 3.25

Thanks for reading everyone, and feel free to pm me on the forums and tell me what you think!

naruto uzumaki legacy of the fourth hokage

this card is not as good as cop but definitely playable. An extra card in the hand is great. He will never or should never be out after turn 4 if u know your opponent has itachi in their deck. Who care about the shark guy the turn 2 guy who eats 2 chaura is better. Remember most if not all narutos are there for sum plus in this case a draw and a block.

Naruto Uzumaki (Legacy of the Fourth Hokage)

Today’s card is one of the most powerful, if not the most powerful zero drops of this set. It has regular Naruto stats but a nice effect that gives you a free card. Unlike previous card giving ninjas, this one’s drawback is not nearly as painful (Kaede eventually makes you discard a card, Rock Lee comes into play injured, and Udon and Moegi don’t guarantee a card as well as having abysmal stats). All Naruto does is lower the turn cost of any Akatsuki members in your opponents hand by one, which will hardly ever make any difference.
Naruto’s downfall is that he simply isn’t good enough. Right now, CoP is the Naruto dominating the 0 drop slot, and LotFH doesn’t have clone status so he can’t be used in Naruto themed decks (can’t use Uzumaki Barrage, Sexy Jutsu, or Clone Body Slamming).
Though LotFH is a good card he will only see play in decks that need a lot of early game drawing power (5 prong seal decks) due to his lack of clone status and CoP simply being a superior card.

Constructed: 2.5/5
Limited: 4.5/5 (The strongest zero drop this set)
Art: 2/5 (If he’s doing Rasengan, why doesn’t he have clone status!?)

Monday -- Naruto Uzumaki [Legacy of the Fourth Hokage]

Sorry for the late review; but a late review is better than no review at all.

Naruto Uzumaki [Legacy of the Fourth Hokage]
++Pros++
Turn 0
Draw when played
Growth
Lightning/*OIL*
--Cons--
Better playable Turn 0's
-1 turn cost for Akatsuki
No clone status
Only good when Injured

I myself run 2 of these. I like this guy. He does have his downfalls though. He looks pretty awesome, doing rasengan; all in all, he's not a bad card.

Art: 5/5
Effect: 3/5
Combat/Support: 3/5
