Hey gang, sorry I missed last week's reviews, but I didn't have a lot of time thanks to exams and my new job. Anyways, Tuesday's card is Pakkun, the new ninja dog on the block. Though the game really hasn't been able to make anything really strong with ninja dogs, they may get the chance next set. For now, we have Pakkun, whose stats are really bad, but his effect isn't. Basically, Pakkun allows you to shift ninjas from his team to a team that is possibly stronger, allowing you to win more battle rewards than the one you would normally. Still, Pakkun isn't a ninja you are probably going to run unless you want to try an Animal deck using Fang Over Fang, Kiba and various other Jutsus that revolve around the Animal status. Side note: Another Beast ninja, one that was missing from Revenge and Rebirth will be in Dream Legacy, hopefully with some ninja dogs to add to the bunch. The set after will have a new Kiba, a new Akamaru and some new Jutsus based around Kiba and Akamaru for all those who like the Beast Ninjas.

Limited: 2/5(there are better ninjas at turn 2 in Revenge and Rebirth).
Constructed: 2/5(really only recommended in a deck using Kiba and his Jutsus, which gives an excuse to run the Nine-Tailed Fox).

Beastly Mage

Pakkun (n165)

Hello there, fellow Pojo-ers. Today's card is another Lightning Ninja. This time, however, he's a different breed of Ninja... literally! Pakkun's stats are mediocre at best for a turn two/rankless Ninja. But his effect is what gets you. If he isn't blocked you can make a new team on the spot. But, his effect is situational. What if he gets blocked? He's gonna be turned into puppy tempura! o_0 That's not good.

Hello pojo, I've only got a very quick review tonight, I was out and about all day and have to wake up at 4:30 am tomorrow...

Pakkun is a turn 2, no rank, no combat, no support "ninja" that can perform a rather worthless combat trick if it's unblocked. Wow, Pakkun is in the back of my team, too bad it has no support.

In limited, its a chumper...Actually, during the premier, an opponent annoyed me by using his 0/0 pakkun as a head ninja with Temari AM and Inoichi behind it...it took me a long time to get through Pakkun and it cost me a lot of resources. If you can luck out like that guy did against me then Pakkun might be playable...But...not really.

Hm...I probably seem really cynical about the cards we're reviewing. Hopefully there will be something playable to review soon...Stay tuned!

Pakkun...
Constructed: 1/5 (I'd give it a 0 if I could...)
Limited: 1/5
