Naruto Uzumaki
[Fast Growth]

Card Number: 085
Rarity - SR

Review Date: 11.29.06

Average Card Rating: 3

Ratings are based on a 1 to 5 scale 1 being the worst.
3 ... average. 5 is the highest rating.

the bogosian explosion

It's Explosion time!!!!

I almost fell in love with this card, this card would've been a must for a lightning deck!

However there is but one problem...it does not have clone status =(, which would have made him an excellent canadite for NA-RU-TO UZAMAKI BARRAGE!

Alas his effect can still be quite deadly, having a 5/2 by turn 1 or 2(dependning on turn of naruto you growth)

Also the other problem...the turn cost, i wish it were 0 just in case you cannot growth it =/ sorry for the short reviews this week, Honors english is kickin my butt this week constructed: 3/5

limited: 4/5(dude if you keep pulling secret rares....)

Naruto Uzumaki [Fast Growth]

Pros: Potential Jiraiya Strength

Cons: Bad Healthy Stats (even for Naruto)

What happens when you overeat on Thanksgiving, you get twice as fat, just like today’s card of the day. If you’re feeling lucky this card can become one of the strongest in the game and take out many teams single handed. How could you turn down a 7/4 beat stick? Easily, frankly I’d rather run [Imposter!] or [Self-Sacrificing Attack] in place of this. At least with Imposter you can chump block for infinity and Self-Sacrificing can knock one of your opponent’s ninja down a notch. This is just one of those, I’m awesome if you top deck into 3 of me cards, never thought I’d say that before. Then again, if you’re feeling lucky give it a try, if you get a Self-Sacrificing Attack Naruto off and grow into this one you have a 5/2 beater turn 2.

Constructed: 2.5/5
Limited: 4/5 (Only if you draft 3 of them)
Art: 4/5

Naruto Uzumaki (Fast Growth)

The Good
-A turn two 5/2 ninja
-Plenty of Naruto support

The Bad
-Chance
- -1 support?!

Naruto! I need more Naruto Support!! One of the most recognizable cards in the game gets even more support, now in growth form! With a card like this, you can have a team of 5 with one ninja by turn 2! That's if you play him as a growth ninja. If you don't, he's the worst Naruto ever, and should never see play. This card is all about luck, and unless you have a lot of cards that modify your deck(Inner Sakura), it's generally going to pop up at bad points. I personally like the idea, but they needed to give this one decent stats to make it good.

Constructed 2.5/5
Limited 1/5

[FAST GROWTH]
When this ninja is put in play by the effect of "Growth,"
place an additional growth coin on top.

0/-1
3/0 Injured

Pros:
- HUGE stat boost through Growth.

Con:
- Horrible starting stats.
- Takes up a one-drop slot.
- Better Naruto's out there.

Well, I'd say that the cons obviously outweigh the pros here, so it's going to be difficult to even attempt an objective review at this point. I will say, however, that for myself the jury is still out on the Growth effect. It's definitely not worth it for this one, though.

If his normal support was at least 0 or 1, I'd consider it - but imagine having to rely on this in an emergency, and you're nothing short of totally screwed. Of course, growing this from say, a Nine-Tailed Chakra Naruto might actually be worth it (that's 2-1, 5/2 on turn one) if both were guarenteed draws, but that's where you run into the second and third problems.

First off, he is a one-drop, a category you've most likely already filled with Sakura, Temari, or Dosu. Secondly, he takes up one of your three "Naruto Uzumaki" slots, and that's one of my main problems with Growth overall. You've got three slots for any unique card in your deck, and Growth can really mess with your draw chances if you plan to use different copies of the same ninja. Unless you've got a really reliable combo (which I can guarantee you don't at this point), it's really not worth the effort. If your Growth-status ninja is better than the original, just run it. But I wouldn't rely on having reliable Growth decks, at least not for now.

Constructed: 2.5/5 -> Nine-Tailed and SR Naruto are still my favorites.
Limited: 2.5/5 -> Better hope you draft more than one Naruto.
Art: 4/5 -> It'd be cooler with Rasengan.
